Free agent Caron Butler has agreed to a two-year deal with the Sacramento Kings, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Butler will have a player option on the second year, sources said.

Butler gives a combustible Kings locker room a tough-minded, mature veteran presence, an ally for coach George Karl.

Butler, 35, spent last season with the Detroit Pistons, averaging 5.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 78 games.

Butler was the 10th overall selection in the 2002 NBA draft and has averaged 14.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 13 seasons with eight teams.
