Social media reacts to UNC landing Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson
The North Carolina Tar Heels has already been busy in the transfer portal, with numerous talent leaving for new opportunities.
Well, the saying out with the old, in with the new speaks volumes with a recent transfer portal move as Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson committing to UNC per his social media accounts. The commitment comes on the heels of UNC backup QB Jefferson Boaz entering the portal on Monday.
The other key component here is Drake Maye, who is expected to enter the upcoming NFL draft as one of the top prospects in the nation. If Johnson were to step into the starting role next season, he would bring a whirlwind of experience as a four-year player.
In four seasons with LSU and the Aggies, Johnson has a 60.5 completion percentage, 5853 passing yards, 47 touchdowns, and one interception. The quick move brought quite a reaction to social media, as fans discussed what this move meant and if it was the right call.
Let’s look at how social media reacted to Max Johnson’s commitment to becoming a Tar Heel.
With Max Johnson at UNC wouldn’t be shocked if his brother Jake a 6-6, 240 pound TE doesn’t join him.

UNC had a hell of a run of quarterbacks:
-Mitch Trubisky
-Sam Howell
-Drake MayeNow they're back to mid with Max Johnson

One of the key positions that Mack has consistently produced success in since his return has been QB.
Feels like #UNC would’ve had lots of options to replace Drake, but Max Johnson seems to be the guy.
Somehow the beginning of this offseason is already creating more confusion. https://t.co/lFs7cZqmCD

Max Johnson.

If Conner Harrell sticks around, I wouldn't be surprised if he beats Max Johnson out. Johnson is fine but considering what the Heels ask out of the QB the last 5 years, this is a substantial step back. The wide receiver room is loaded but how much better will the O-Line be?

As a TAMU grad
Max Johnson is not Sam Howell and certainly isn’t Drake Maye
But he’s a good game manager who can thrive in a strong system with talent around him

I'm not sure how I feel about Max Johnson. Thought Connor Harrell could be good enough in a Chip Lindsey offense, but competition never hurt nobody.
