Social media reacts to Chop Robinson’s 40-yard dash and NFL combine performance
It may be safe to say Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson was one of the true stars of the day on the first full day of the NFL combine. Robinson opened eyes with a blazing fast time in the 40-yard dash. He impressed so much with his first run that he decided not to do a second run. Who could blame him?
Robinson’s 40-yard dash time was the highlight of the day for former Penn State players as the combine opened. He also tied for the best broad jump distance among defensive ends with a 10 ‘ 8″ jump (tied with Jalyx Hunt from Houston Christian University), although his vertical jump fell more in the middle of the pack in his position group. But the speed helps overcome a lagging vertical jump.
Here is a sampling of the social media reactions to Robinson’s solid showing at the NFL combine,

Is there something in the water?
Are we ready to talk about #PSU Edge Chop Robinson as a #Cowboys option?
6-3, 254 and officially posted a ran a 4.48 40-yard dash…
Micah Parsons was 6-3, 246 when he ran his 4.39.

Bruce Feldman weighs in
Penn State's Chop Robinson, at 6-3, 254, broad jumps 10-8 (he did 10-7 last offseason). His vertical today was 34 1/2. Curious to see his 40 and shuttle times today. https://t.co/xAjTDnWg7v https://t.co/XkzyqOlu3h

Chop Robinson is truly ridiculous!
A 1.54 for a man this size is absolutely ridiculous. Chop Robinson is EXPLOSIVE. #NFLcombine #NFLdraft pic.twitter.com/ZFugMPbxt7

This was a once in a generation performance by Robinson
Chop Robinson’s official 4.48-second 40-yard dash is the 5th-fastest among 250+ pound edge rushers at the combine since 2003.
Robinson has a similar size and athleticism profile to Rams edge rusher Byron Young, who finished 2023 with the 2nd-most pressures among rookies. pic.twitter.com/GeuGH6U4rJ

Smart man
Chop Robinson declines to run a second 40-yard dash.
I probably wouldn't either after posting a 4.49.

This could be encouraging news for Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson: 95th percentile weight adjusted forty. Most EDGEs with that explosion end up Round 1 historically. https://t.co/pHRhIBtmME
