Soap Bowl rescheduled for Aug. 10

Aug. 7—TIFTON — Fans coming to the Soap Bowl Thursday, Aug. 4 will be able to save time for future Tift County Blue Devils football games this year.

Athletic director Chris Martin said tickets would be on sale that afternoon for Tift's scrimmage against Lowndes on Aug. 11 in Valdosta.

The proceeds of any scrimmage ticket the Blue Devils sell at the Soap Bowl stays at Tifton. Monies from the tickets sold Friday at Lowndes' Martin Stadium will benefit the Vikings.

Admission prices to the Soap Bowl are $5 for adults, or laundry soap or a case of water. Students will be admitted free. The Soap Bowl starts at 6:30 p.m. at the TCHS mini-stadium.

There will be scrimmages involving the 6th-9th grade teams. Varsity Blue Devils will be introduced, but not play because of the next night's scrimmage. The Blue Devil Brigade and cheerleaders will be there in support of Tift's teams.

Food trucks will be on hand for those needing supper and Tift County gear will be on sale for anyone needing a little more blue in their wardrobe.

In addition to the scrimmage game ticket, Martin said season tickets will be on sale at the Soap Bowl.

A $150 adult pass, includes a general admission ticket to all high school games, plus a general admission ticket to all middle school and high school athletic events during the 2023-24 school year. A $20 upgrade to $170 guarantees a ticket in the reserved section of Brodie Field.

Students can get the same general admission ticket pass for $100. To upgrade to a reserved seat, the package is $170.

A reserve ticket package for football games is $70 if purchased through July 27 and $80 after. Individual game reserved seat tickets are $20.

Tift's regular season starts Aug. 18 at Coffee. The first home game will be Aug. 25 against Dutchtown.
