From sluggers to aces, these are the 16 Fall River area baseball players to watch in 2024

The high school baseball is set to get underway.

Six Greater Fall River area teams — Atlantis CharterCaseDimanDurfeeSomerset Berkley and Westport — will take to the diamond this week in hopes of advancing deep into the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament.

Here are Fall River’s area high school players to watch during the 2024 season:

Davion Adediran, Atlantis Charter

The Triton three-sport athlete turns his attention to baseball to start the new spring season. The Atlantis Charter freshman will be patrolling the outfield as well as helping with mound duties.

Jared Brown, Atlantis Charter

The Triton senior is a four-year starter and expected to be a workhorse on both the field and on the hill. Brown helped lead Atlantis Charter to a playoff berth last year.

Devon Paradise, Atlantis Charter

Paradise is looking to build on his success on the diamond the last three seasons. The Triton junior is a three-year starter. He was named a Herald News second teamer last spring. Paradise helped lead Atlantis Charter to a playoff berth last year.

Adam Gracie, Case

The Cardinals senior infielder heads into his final season, looking to end his high school career with a bang. Gracie batted .296 and was named a South Coast Conference honorable mention. He helped lead Case to a postseason berth in 2023.

Will LeBoeuf, Case

The Cardinal senior will be counted on for leadership this spring. The Case outfielder swings a big bat and is reliable in the field.

Jackson McLane, Case

The Cardinals senior pitcher had an all-star season in 2023. He finished with a 4-3 mark and an earn run average of 1.62. He fanned 60 batters in 52 innings and pitched a 9-0 shutout against Lynn Technical in the postseason.

Kole Andrade, Diman

Andrade, a senior, had a fantastic year in 2023 on the mound for the Bengals. The Diman right-hander won four games with an earn run average under two runs. He was named a Mayflower Athletic Conference All-Star and helped lead the Bengals to a postseason berth.

Sam Perry, Diman

Perry had another solid season at the plate and in the field for the Bengals in 2023. The Diman junior lead the team in hits, runs batted in and batted .466. Perry was named a Mayflower Athletic Conference All-Star and led the Bengals to a postseason berth.

Matt Almeida, Durfee

Almeida will look to solidify to top spot in the rotation for the Hilltoppers this spring. The Durfee junior pitcher will also see some action at third base.

Jeyden Espinal, Durfee

Espinal is back for his final season on the diamond for the Hilltoppers. The Durfee senior shortstop had a team-high .504 on-base percentage and was named a Southeast Conference All-Star. Espinal had a hit in the Hilltoppers playoff win against Lynn Classical.

Owen Moniz, Durfee

Moniz had a pretty good season at the plate last season for the Hilltoppers. The Durfee junior infielder batted a solid .281 in his first season as a starter.

Will Dionne, Somerset Berkley

Dionne will be the No. 1 starter for the Raiders to begin the spring season. The SBR right-hander finished with a 3-1 mark in eight appearances. In 33 innings pitcher, Dionne fanned 31 batters and walked just eight. He had an earned run average of 0.64 and was named a South Coast Conference honorable mention.

Camden Hoyle, Somerset Berkley

Hoyle had an exceptional season for the Raiders last spring. The senior second baseman was a South Coast Conference All-Star after batting .362 and a field percentage of .924. Hoyle drove in 13 runs and scored 14 times. He helped lead Somerset Berkley to a Division 2 Round of 16.

Landon Richardson, Somerset Berkley

Richardson looks to bounce back and round out the Raider's formidable 1-2 punch on hill this spring. Last season, he was 1-0 in 14⅔ innings pitched with an earn run average of 2.39 ERA. The SBR senior captain provides quality outfield defense and a strong bat.

Luke Finglas, Westport

Finglas is one of the veteran players for the Wildcats in 2024. The Westport versatile junior utility player is expected to pitch at the top of the rotation. He helped lead the Wildcats to a postseason berth last season.

Connor James, Westport

The youthful Wildcat looks for a big year from James this spring. The Westport junior corner infielder expected to pitch toward the top of the rotation.
