Sixers guard Furkan Korkmaz has big game for Turkey in friendly loss

Philadelphia 76ers reserve guard Furkan Korkmaz is competing in EuroBasket 2022 for his native country of Turkey. Currently, friendlies are being played ahead of the tournament, which does not start for Turkey until Sept. 1.

On Friday, Korkmaz had a big day. He scored 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting, including two of his six attempts from deep. He pulled down 10 rebounds as Turkey fell to Greece, 89-80.

Korkmaz was able to post a big highlight: knocking down a tough 3 while being fouled.

Korkmaz had a down season in the 2021-22 campaign: He shot only 28.9% from deep. That will not cut it in the upcoming season, so he has to bring his strong international play back to Philly as he gets set for his sixth season in the league.
