Here are the Tuscaloosa area high school football top performers for Week 8 of AHSAA and AISA action, along with volleyball top performers from area tournament play.

Friday's games

Aliceville's Javian McGraw completed 5 of 9 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in a 44-42 win against Winston County.

Aliceville's KeAnthony Wilder caught a pass for a touchdown.

Aliceville's Tyquan Simon rushed four times for 35 yards and two touchdowns and caught five passes for a total of 122 yards.

American Christian Academy's Kai Young completed 22 of 35 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns and run for another in a 51-29 win against Sipsey Valley.

American Christian Academy's Jackson Willingham rushed for 140 yards on 22 carries with one touchdown.

American Christian Academy's Bubba Lester's recorded nine catches for 116 yards and a touchdown.

American Christian Academy's Davis Dare caught a pass for a touchdown and ended with seven catches for 11 yards. He notched 10 tackles on defense.

American Christian Academy's Cooper Dempsey intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

American Christian Academy's Eric Hines intercepted a pass and took it to the end zone.

Bibb County's Jordan Leverette completed 5 of 7 passes, with no interceptions, for 154 yards and three touchdowns in a 55-8 win against Dallas County.

Bibb County's CJ Morrow caught two passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

Bibb County's Luke Thompson recovered a fumble at the Dallas County 22-yard-line and returned it for a touchdown.

Central quarterback David McNeil led the offense with 89 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 28-21 loss to Bessemer City. He passed for 122 yards and a touchdown, completing 8 of 11 passes.

Demopolis's Antonio Cox scored twice on 17 carries for 109 yards in a 32-2 win against Holtville.

Demopolis's Dalyn Jackson's finished with four receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Demopolis's Keishawn Rowser scored on a run.

Fayette County's Jake Rickman completed 24 of 38 attempts with no inteceptions for 289 yards and a touchdown in a 28-24 loss to Winfield.

Fayette County's Cooper Sanford caught 13 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown.

Fayette County's Dylan Schloerb rushed 30 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for a total of 26 yards.

Fayette County's Hollis Strawbridge caught eight passes for a total of 91 yards on offense and, on defense, secured 10 solo tackles and three assists.

Gordo's Jase Neel completed 12 of 18 passes for 162 yards and ran nine times for 131 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-10 win against Oakman to win the AHSAA Class 3A, Region 5 championship.

Gordo's Ethan Wilder scored on a run and rushed four times for 56 yards.

Gordo's Jace Hathcock's game included 12 tackles and a pass deflection.

Greensboro's Kendrick Paige Jr. scored the team's lone touchdown on a 34-yard pass from Cornell Richardson in a 45-8 loss Alabama Christian.

Greensboro's Marlin Lewis forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and led his squad with 10 tackles.

Hillcrest's Bryson Kimbrough threw for four touchdowns and more than 100 yards in a 60-13 win over Paul W. Bryant.

Hillcrest's Kahden Smith scored three times, catching two touchdown passes for 12 and 69-yards, along with a 32-yard touchdown run.

Hillcrest's Jayshon Land scored three touchdowns, with a 39-yard touchdown reception along with two rushing touchdowns of 51 and 11-yards.

Hillcrest's Christian Richey scored two rushing touchdowns and ran for more than 100 yards.

Holy Spirit's Alex Tant passed for 184 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-26 win against Brilliant.

Holy Spirit's John Anthony Armour rushed for two touchdowns.

Linden's Roderick Brown had two touchdowns on offense along with 18 tackles and one sack on defense in the 26-14 win over University Charter School.

Linden's Keilyn Edwards had one touchdown along with two tackles and two pass breakups.

Linden's Tyshaun Jacobs had one touchdown along with five tackles, four of those being for loss.

Northside's Aubrey Horner rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-27 loss to Dora.

Northside's Jackson Rhodes passed for 206 yards and one touchdown.

Northside's Devin Guin scored on a touchdown reception and ended the game with 101 receiving yards.

Paul W. Bryant's Edwin Merriweather threw for more than 200 yards and scored both of the Stampede's touchdowns with an 18-yard touchdown pass and rushing touchdown in the 60-13 loss to Hillcrest.

Paul W. Bryant's Miles Madden hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass.

Sipsey Valley's LJ Cormier passed for 413 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 70 yards in a 51-29 loss to American Christian Academy.

Sipsey Valley's Wyatt Bailey caught 14 passes for a total of 147 yards and two touchdowns.

Sipsey Valley's Ayden Abernathy ran for for 134 yards and a touchdown and caught seven passes.

Sipsey Valley's Jon Welch led his team with 14 tackles.

South Lamar's Charles Neal scored on runs of 30, 27 and 24 yards. Rushed eight times for a total of 138 yards in a 48-15 win against Marion County. Neal also scored on a 70-yard Pick 6 and recovered a fumble.

South Lamar's Chad McGarity recovered two fumbles.

Sulligent's AJ Lowe rushed 24 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-14 loss against Tuscaloosa Academy.

Tuscaloosa Academy quarterback Preston Lancaster threw three touchdown passes in a 21-14 win against Sulligent.

Tuscaloosa Academy's Mills Powell caught two touchdown receptions.

Tuscaloosa Christian School's quarterback Luke Jones passed for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 56-38 win against Victory Christian Academy to advance to the playoffs. Jones completed 3 of 3 passes for 117 yards and ran three times for 59 yards.

Tuscaloosa Christian's Jackson Harris ran seven times for 139 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 49-yard reception.

Tuscaloosa Christian's Michael Carter led the defense with 12.5 tackles and one interception.

West Blocton's Caden Fancher completed 7 of 12 passes for 197 yards and three passing touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns in a 44-37 win against Hale County.

West Blocton's Scotty Calhoun caught two touchdown passes.

West Blocton's Nate Barron ran 15 times for 157 yards and a touchdown.

Winfield's Brady May completed 5 of 6 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown in a 28-24 win against Fayette County.

Winfield's Declyn Morgan rushed for two touchdowns.

Winfield's Sean Wyers scored on a 28-yard touchdown reception.

Volleyball

Thursday

University Charter School sophomore setter and right-side hitter Emory Pezent's two-match totals included 32 assists, 11 kills and three service aces in a 3-0 win against Linden and a 3-0 win against R.C. Hatch to help lead UCS to the AHSAA Class 1A, Area 6 title.

University Charter School's Brinkli Woods' totals included 17 aces and 10 kills.
