Singles semifinals and doubles final set in Tallahassee Tennis Challenger at Forestmeadows
Coming down to the final weekend of action in Tallahassee with the quarterfinals in singles and semis in doubles taking place at the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger Presented by Visit Tallahassee.
Play started at high noon Friday and American Stefan Kozlov was ready as the bell rang at Forestmeadows Tennis Complex.
He jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first set in just 20 minutes. Kozlov cruised to take the first set and it was more of the same in the second as he claimed the 6-2 6-2 victory.
A 3 hour and 20 minute marathon followed that match.
Calvin Hemery of France edged Alexander Ritschard in three sets. Both players had opportunities in the final two sets, but Hemery was able to close it out.
American Mitchell Krueger has played in Tallahassee many times.
He now has reached the semifinals.
“It wasn’t easy,” added Krueger. “I felt I was able to play my game and he missed some shots.”
