Trevor Sinclair is backing Riyad Mahrez to have a big impact at Manchester City this season.

The mercurial Algerian finally got his move away Leicester City in the summer, securing a £60m switch, and provides the champions with another attacking outlet.

On the latest episode of Yahoo Sport’s brilliant programme, The Football Show, Sinclair was asked who he thinks will be this season’s surprise package.

While he knows everyone is aware of the talent Mahrez possesses, he thinks he will have more of an impact at the Etihad than many people are saying.

“You can’t say Mahrez is going to be a surprise package, but I think he’s going to be very useful for Manchester City,” Sinclair said.

“He’s won the league, so that experience, and he’s been wanting to get away for a while.

“I’m excited to watch how he does in that Manchester City side.”
