Sin City Celtics vs. Summer Nets: Boston falls to Brooklyn 102-95 to end Las Vegas Summer League play

The Boston Celtics finished their 2022 Las Vegas Summer League play with a whimper, losing to the Brooklyn Nets 102-95, falling to 3-2 in Sin City exhibition play overall.

But the exercise was far from a futile one with several prospects to join the Celtics’ two way or full roster for the 2022-23 season had another chance to show how they might help Boston next season, and several others a shot at impressing scouts from other teams and leagues. Among the standouts in the Summer Celtics’ loss to Brooklyn are guard Juhan Begarin (25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals), floor general JD Davison (17 points, 6 boards, 10 assists), big man Mfiondu Kabengele (18 points, 4 blocks), and forward Justin Jackson (10 points, 5 rebounds).

Center Trevion Williams chipped in 9 points and 9 boards off of the bench for Boston Saturday night.

The NBA calendar is now at its lowest with the end of live NBA basketball until the preseason arrives in September, but with the league becoming the year-round product that it is, the news of offseason teambuilding ought to extend into August — if not later.

The Celtics’ front office still has decisions to make about which if any of the unsigned players playing for Boston in Las Vegas this month ought to make the team, as well as plans to add additional frontcourt depth.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear if they think Ryan sticks.
