Shy Tuttle talks about Panthers’ funny, trash-talking D-line

Learning a different system with different teammates hasn’t been all hard work for Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Shy Tuttle.

The former NFC South foe spoke a bit about his new buddies following Friday’s outing of training camp. While he did say getting comfortable in this latest role will continue to take time, he’s also having fun doing it alongside his fellow frontmen.

“One word?!? We can’t be described off one word,” Tuttle replied when asked to describe his unit. “Funny, maybe? Yeah, let’s say funny.”

He was then asked who the biggest jokester of the group is.

Derrick Brown is probably the biggest [expletive] talker amongst the D-line,” he said, perhaps regrettably. “I wasn’t allowed to say that word?

“I can’t come in the meeting room without him talking about me. Like, it’s crazy. And you guys, ‘Derrick is so quiet.’ I’m like, ‘No, he’s not.'”

“He calls me fat, every day,” Tuttle later added. “Every day he see me, he calls me fat. He weigh more than me, that’s the thing.”

Hopefully for the Panthers—Derrick, Shy and the rest of their big boys aren’t quiet on the field this season.
