Shreveport Times non-football athlete of the week 3 ballot features 12 area athletes
Voting is now open online for The Shreveport Times High School Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Raising Cane’s, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and Cosse and Silmon Orthodontics. The poll includes student-athletes in Louisiana high school sports other than football from 12 North Louisiana schools.
Fans of those students, their schools or their particular sport can vote at shreveporttimes.com under “sports” for their favorite. Voting will continue through Thursday evening with the winner announced Friday.
Weekly winners will receive a backpack, a boxed lunch combo and some additional swag courtesy of Raising Cane’s. Winners from last season include Airline’s Logan Olsen, Byrd’s Andrew Stuart, Loyola’s Taylor Nash and Benton's Abby Schroeder.
Already winning this year are Benton's Claire Allen, Huntington's Jamarion Washington, Airline's Sicily Fontaine and Caddo Magnet’s Elena Pizarro.
On the Week 3 ballot for the 2023-24 school year are Jayny Ramsey, West Monroe volleyball; Ja’Niyah Boudreaux, Airline volleyball; Tia Taylor, Captain Shreve volleyball; Caitlynn Johnson, Parkway volleyball; Kaylie Brantly, Southwood volleyball; Elsie Jane Adams, Byrd cheer; Justice Robinson, Natchitoches Central cheer; Eri'Miya Boston, Arcadia cheer; Rickey Winston, Magnolia swimming; Zachary Ponder, Calvary swimming; Lee Ballard, Caddo Magnet cross country and Brody Hutchison, Benton cross country.
These athletes were chosen because of their performance last week or because their names were submitted by their coach.

The High School Athlete of the Week includes athletes from all LHSAA-sanctioned sports other than football. In the fall, that includes volleyball, cross country, swimming and cheerleading.
