Shortly after K.J. Duff committed to Rutgers football, he began recruiting another four-star to join him

Just a few hours after he committed to Rutgers football, four-star tight end/wide receiver K.J. Duff began recruiting for the Scarlet Knights. His target: Kaj Sanders, a four-star defensive back from New Jersey.

Sanders is a standout out for Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.). He recently took an official visit to Rutgers and will be making his college announcement this week.

Duff committed to Rutgers last week and  is one of three commits to this current recruiting class for Rutgers who are four-stars. In January, Rutgers landed four-star running back Gabriel Winowich (ESPN and 247Sports) from Michigan. Then in May, North Carolina athlete Isaiah Crumpler (On3) committed to the program.

Duff is a four-star on multiple recruiting states and is the top-ranked player in New York according to Rivals.

So when Sanders re-tweeted an article last week that included the announcement of his top four programs (a Rutgers article no less), it led to a flurry of fans from those programs chiming in and making a recruiting pitch on social media for their respective team.

One of those who chipped in was Duff:

Duff is a big-time get for Rutgers, picking the program He picked Rutgers over a final two that also included Miami and North Carolina. The Long Island prospect also held offers from Arizona State, Duke, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Texas A&M among others.

Last season for St. Anthony’s (Melville, N.Y.), he had 42 catches for 995 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
