After short stay at Penn State, Storm Duck heading back to ACC out of transfer portal

When Storm Duck arrived in Happy Valley for the spring semester, it was expected he could be a contender to lock down a possible starting job in the secondary going into the 2023 season after transferring from North Carolina. Instead, Duck is flying out of State College and returning to the ACC after a brief stay in the NCAA transfer portal.

On Wednesday, Duck announced his commitment to Louisville. Duck announced his commitment on his Instagram account, ending a quick stop in the transfer limbo that is the portal.

Duck joins another former Penn State player as a transfer with the Cardinals. Rodney McGraw transferred from Penn State to Louisville with immediate eligibility in December 2022.

With Duck officially on the move, Penn State’s outlook at cornerback still looks to be pretty decent heading into the fall. Kalen King returns as a starter to lock down one spot on the top of the depth chart. Daequan Hardy and Johnny Dixon are top candidates to be another starter, and the future of the position appears to be in good hands with players like Cam Miller, Zion Tracy, and Lamont Payne Jr. all among the players to watch moving forward.
