7. Wall 3, 10. Freehold Township 2, 9 innings: A Jake Howlett home run leading off the bottom of the ninth gave the Crimson Knights (7-6) the win over the Patriots (8-6). It was the fourth homer of the season for Howlett.
Wall will play at No. 2 seed Red Bank Catholic in the quarterfinal. That game is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
Freehold Township tied the game in in the top of the seventh when Jon Boylan scored on an error on Mike Avino's ground ball with two out.
Jon Cofone's two-out RBI single in the sixth had given Wall a 2-1 lead.
T.J. Legere pitched 1 2/3 hitless, scoreless innings and struck out three and walked none to pick up the win. Wall starter Zach Szatkowski struck out eight, walked one and allowed two unearned runs on six hits in 7 1/3 innings.
Freehold Township starter Jackson Redmond scattered 12 hits, struck out seven and walked three in a complete-game effort.
Gabe Cavazzoni went 3-for-4. Matt Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Howlett also doubled and was 2-for-5.
Ryan Kopf and Lucas Dixon were both 2-for-5 for Freehold Township.

Ranney will host the winner of the bracket involving No. 20 seed St. Rose, No. 4 seed Rumson-Fair Haven and No. 12 seed Manasquan in the semifinal. St. Rose and Rumson-Fair Haven will meet in the round of 16. That game is scheduled for Sunday, weather permitting. The winner of that game will meet Manasquan in the quarterfinal.

Shore 5, Red Bank Catholic 3: It happened again.
Shore Regional (6-6, 3-5) defeated Red Bank Catholic (9-3, 6-2) for the second straight season after it had been defeated by the Caseys at Red Bank Catholic.
Last year, the Blue Devils rebounded to defeat Red Bank Catholic three days after it had been defeated 23-0 by the Caseys. This win came two days after an 8-1 defeat to RBC.
Senior right-hander Donovan Hughes fired a complete-game four-hitter. He struck out four and walked four and Joe Santi and E.J. Stefanelli each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Santi scored two runs. Christian Simonsen went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run.
Shane Andrus had a homer and two RBI and Alex Stanyek had a double and scored two runs for Red Bank Catholic.
Red Bank Catholic remained in first place in the loss column in Class A Central because second-place Rumson-Fair Haven was defeated 4-3 by Raritan.

Manalapan 10, Freehold Township 6: A 10-run bottom of the fourth inning enabled Manalapan (5-7-1, 3-6-1) to erase a 6-0 deficit and defeat the Patriots (8-5, 4-5) and snap Freehold Township's three-game win streak.
A two-run single by Christian Zabotka in the bottom of the fourth gave Manalapan (5-7-1, 3-6-1) a 7-6 lead Joseph Dionisio plated the first run of the inning with a bases-loaded walk and capped the inning with a two-run double, John Pecoraro had a run-scoring single Christian Ptasienski a run-scoring double and Joe Vavaro a bases-loaded walk. The other run in the inning scored on a wild pitch.
Zabotka went 2-for-4 and Danny Burns pitched four innings of relief to pick up the win.

St. Rose 4, Point Beach 3, 9 innings: And then there were none.
A pinch-hit single to right by senior Joe Sestito with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Brennan Sherman and gave St. Rose (10-3, 9-0) a 4-3 win over Point Pleasant Beach and handed the Garnet Gulls their first defeat of the season.
Point Beach (10-1, 8-1) had been the last unbeaten team in the Shore Conference.
The result also moved St. Rose, which is back in Class B Central for the first time since 2018, into sole possession of first place in the division by a game over Point Beach. The two meet Friday at Point Beach in the finale of the two-game series.
Sherman led off the ninth with a single to left. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Peter Nolan before Sestito delivered the game-winner on a 3-2 pitch.
The Garnet Gulls had loaded the bases with two out in the top of the ninth, but sophomore right-hander Chris Zahlman got out of the inning by getting a ground out to second.
St. Rose sent the game into extra innings on am RBI single to right by Nolan with one out in the bottom of the seventh after Point Beach had taken a 3-2 lead by scoring two in the top of the seventh.
An RBI single to right by Noah Banick and a sacrifice fly to right by Bryan Matuschat had given Point Beach a 3-2 lead.
St. Rose took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by freshman Frank Soos and a wild pitch that plated Anthony Crudo.
Danny Lubach scored on an error in the fifth to pull the Garnet Gulls within 2-1.
Zahlman picked up the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief with one strikeout and no walks.
Senior right-hander Jack Lomerson allowed three runs, just one earned, on six hits, struck out three and walked four over the first seven innings.
Soos and Crudo were each 2-for-4
Matuschat was 2-for-4.

Toms River South scored the two runs Pierson would need in the bottom of the second. Wilkinson off with a line single to right. He moved to throw on a throwing error on Evan Schmidt's bunt and beat the throw home on a slow roller by Rob Abatemarco with Schmidt moving to third. Schmidt scored on Anthony Johnson's slow roller.
Wilkinson had the RBI double in the third after Justin Diaz singled.
Toms River East had the tying runs on second and third in the seventh, but Pierson got a strikeout to end the game.
Toms River East pitcher Brandon Safoschnik and Brendan Lavin combined to allow just four hits.

Jackson Memorial 4, Southern 3, 10 innings: Aidan O'Donnell's bases-loaded walk with one out in the bottom of the 10th scored Matt Koblos with the winning run as the Jaguars (11-2, 8-1) outlasted the Rams (5-4, 5-3) for their eighth straight win, seventh in the last nine days and moved two games clear in the loss column in Class A South.
Koblos led off the 10th with a walk. He moved to second when Julian Caruso reached on an error on a bunt and moved to third and Caruso to second on a wild pitch. Charlie Meglio was then intentionally walked to load the bases. After a strikeout, O'Donnell walked on a 3-2 pitch.
Collin McCarron scored the tying run on a double play in the sixth.
Tommy Mazzella picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief. He gave up a triple to leadoff the ninth, but got out of the jam with a strikeout, pop-up and ground out sandwiched around a walk.
Jackson Memorial starter Anthony Mehmet allowed three unearned runs on seven hits, struck out five and walked two in eight innings.
Southern starter Brady Lesiak allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits, struck out seven and walked one.

Matawan pitchers have pitched two consecutive complete-game shutouts over the last two days, struck out 22 and allowed just six hits over the last two days.
Brandon Falco had a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts Monday against Howell in a Monmouth County Tournament round of 16 game.
Huskies' pitchers have struck out 11 or more in three of the last four games. Falco struck out 15 against Freehold on April 19.
Kevin Prime had a solo homer for Manasquan.

It was the second consecutive outing with double-digit strikeouts for Nate Ruth. He struck out a school-record and state single-game high for this season 18 on April 17 in a 2-0 win over Manasquan.

Meglio now has seven homers and 28 RBI on the season and 18 homers for his career. The Shore Conference record for homers in a season is 15 set by Joe Stanzione of Middletown South last year. The Jackson Memorial school record is 14 set by Marc Fink in 1994.
Daddio picked up his second save in as many days. He has pitched 12 straight scoreless inning with eight strikeouts, two walks in five outings over the last eight days. He has allowed three hits and an unearned run during that time.
Aidan O'Donnell had a two-run double in the first and Matt Koblos a two-run single in the fourth for Jackson Memorial.
Brayden Lowden had a double, two walks and two RBI and Dom Masino went 2-for-3 with a double and scored two runs for Central.
