Serena and Venus Williams will play doubles at U.S. Open, go for 15th Grand Slam together

Serena and Venus Williams have accepted a wild card to play doubles at the U.S. Open.

The sisters have 14 doubles Grand Slam championships, tied for second in the Open era, including two at the U.S. Open in 1999 and 2009. They have not lost a title once they have reached the finals. Their most recent doubles Grand Slam title was at Wimbledon in 2016. They also have three Olympic gold medals in doubles.

Serena, who turns 41 next month, told Vogue in this month's issue that she will move away from competitive tennis after the U.S. Open. Venus, 42, has not indicated when she will retire. She holds 49 singles titles and seven Grand Slam championships.
