Section 9 girls volleyball coaches announce all-star picks, all-state selections

The Section 9 volleyball coaches named Mount Academy junior Amy Boller as its player of the year and Millbrook’s Shawn Stoliker as the coach of the year.

An outside hitter, Boller ranked second in the state with 518 kills and her hitting percentage ranked sixth at .420. Named by the local chapter of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, Boller will be attending the national championships in Tampa, Fla.

Stoliker led the Blazers to the Section 9 Class C title, a regional title and a berth in the state finals. Stoliker was chosen for his “love of the game and commitment to excellence in the fundamentals’’ of teaching.
