Seacoast Monday roundup: York freshman Sarah Orso has three RBIs; PHS softball wins, more

YARMOUTH, Maine - Freshman Sarah Orso had two hits and three RBIs as the York High School softball team improved to 7-0 with a 14-4 win over Falmouth on Monday in a Class B South game.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Sophomore Maddie Fitzgerald had a team-high three hits for the Wildcats, while Lindsay Rivers had two hits and an RBI, and Ella Hickey had a hit and three RBIs. Emily Estes (hit, two RBIs) and McKayla Kortes (hit, RBI) also led the offense. Kortes struck out 12, earning the win.

PORTSMOUTH - Addison Carroll's team-high three hits led Portsmouth to this Division I win. Brigid Cadle and Sarah Sokolnicki each had an RBI for the Clippers.

ROCHESTER - Summer LeClerc had two hits, drove in three and scored four runs as Exeter improved to 9-3 with this Division I win.

Annie Christiana had two hits and scored four runs for the Blue Hawks, while Madi Paige (hit, three RBIs), Kristen Bickford (two hits, two RBIs), Dejah Rondeau (two hits, RBI), Avery Allard (three hits) and Mykenna Whittier (two hits, two runs, RBI) all contributed.

RAYMOND - Alaina Bolduc had three hits and drove in one, and Emma Toriello had two hits and three RBIs as St. Thomas improved to 10-0 with this Division III win.

Elizabeth Flynn (two hits, RBI, run), Sammie Neal (home run, two RBIs, two runs), Bizzy Pelletier (hit) and Brielle Kelly (hit) all joined the hit parade.

Abbie Gaynor struck out seven over three hitless innings for the Saints, while Flynn struck out five over the final four.

NEWMARKET - Hannah Chesley and Lily Thompson both had three RBIs for Newmarket in this Division IV rout. Paige Sweitzer (two hits), Ava Zundell (first varsity hit), Mariza Zygouri (four walks, five runs) led the Newmarket offense.

Thompson struck out seven over three no-hit innings, while Anika Benson and Annaleigha Dotson also pitched for the Mules.

MANCHESTER - Trinity, in a scoreless game with two outs in the sixth, pieced together three hits, three walks and two hit batters resulting in seven runs to earn this Division I win. Tristan Hasselbach's bloop single to left center broke the scoreless tie.

Joe Zingariello led Portsmouth (7-5) with two hits, while Patrick Bancroft and Nick Gladu both had one. Trinity is 8-5.

EXETER - Hayden Schimoler struck out nine and allowed three hits over 5 2/3 innings as Exeter improved to 11-1 with this Division I win.

Mike Caron had two hits, drove in two and scored twice for the Blue Hawks, while Schimoler had two hits and Cam Keaveney, Shea Lafleur, Jack Dever, Finn Adams and Cam Piwnicki all had one.

Wesley Alfonso had two hits for Spaulding.

NASHUA - The Warriors tied the game at 3-3 with a run in the fifth inning and scored five more in the sixth for this Division I win.

Miles Pratt led Winnacunnet (6-7) with four hits and three RBIs, while Connor Fowler and Jackson Larck both had two hits and scored two runs.

Timmy Knight (hit, RBI, run), Brady Thompson (hit, run), Zach Conlon (hit, RBI), and Mason McDonald (hit, run, RBI) led the Warrior offense.

Fowler allowed one earned run and struck out four over the final 3 1/3 innings, earning the win.

DOVER - The Green Wave scored four runs in the sixth inning, rallying for this Division I win.

Nate MacGregor had two hits and two RBIs for Dover (8-5), while Amari Lewis had two hits and one RBI. Grant Davis, Ryder Aubin, Roger Mercier and Will Angers all had one.

NORTHWOOD - Ryan Michaud's three-run, two-out double in the fourth inning helped Oyster River to this Division II win.

Owen Jacques allowed two hits and struck out five over five innings, earning the win. Louis Goldberg (three hits, RBI, run), Landon Wolusky (two hits, RBI) and Colin Klein (three hits) also starred for the Bobcats.

CONCORD - Jackson Dumont had one hit and three RBIs, and Logan Perrault had a hit and two RBIs for Somersworth in its Division III loss.

Simon Grandmaison, Logan Perreault, Carter Morgan, Eric Goodrich and Kaden Bickford all had one hit for the Hilltoppers.

BUCKFIELD, Maine - Caleb French's double scored Colby Christiansen with the game-winning run in the ninth inning of this Class C South contest.

The Rangers tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth as Quinn Alessi scored on Christiansen's groundout.

Christiansen struck out 11 and allowed four hits over nine innings, earning the complete-game win.

EPPING - Cai Summers had two hits and scored a run for PCA (6-2) in its Division IV loss. PCA starter Brayden Leland struck out five and allowed two hits over innings.

YARMOUTH, Maine - Ben Brown's RBI double scored Leo Sullivan in the second inning for York's lone run in this Class B South contest.

Yarmouth scored two runs in the first inning, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Morgan Ruhnke, Ginger Vinciguerra and Lily Patterson all had three goals for the Clippers, while Ella Souza had two goals and two assists.

Georgia Bouvier (goal, assist), Emery Lawton (goal), Addie Delisle (assist) and Anya Bake (assist) all figured in the scoring for Portsmouth.

For Exeter, Hailey O'Kane had four goals and one assist, and Karli Scherpf (goal, two assists), Phoebe Christenson (goal), Anna Lieberman (goal), Izzy Steiner (goal) and Alex Girard (assist) all contributed.

ROCHESTER - Rachel Baughman's three goals led Spaulding to its second Division II win of the season.

Kate McCawley added two goals for the Red Raiders, while Aivah Helton, Sydney Cormier, Sarah Lin and Naomi Brake all had one. Armani Ragas and Arianna Hurley both had one assist in the win.

Spaulding goalie Izzy Orrell had 15 saves.

LEBANON - Megan Leahy had five goals and Lizzy Holden had four for STA (8-0) in its Division III win.

Charlotte DeTolla added three goals for the Saints, while Cat Vetter had one. STA goalie Brea Barker had 10 saves, and Julianna Grella and Maddie McMahon shined defensively.

DOVER - Shea Graham, Reese Gandt and Elle Emery all had three goals for Division II Winnacunnet in this win at Division I Dover.

PORTLAND, Maine - Jackson Hamilton's fifth goal of the game lifted Class B Marshwood to this overtime win over Class A Cheverus.

Hayden Demeroto added three goals and two assists for the Hawks, while Quinn Maguire and Rogan Boisvert both had one goal, and Noah Quater had one assist.
