Schwarzenegger involved in car crash in LA

Actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) was involved in a car accident Friday in Los Angeles, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Schwarzenegger, who was driving a GMC Yukon SUV, reportedly hit a Toyota Prius after turning left on a red turn light.

The crash was first reported by TMZ.

A statement from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the woman driving the Prius suffered a head abrasion that sent her to the hospital, according to the Times. Schwarzenegger was not injured.

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said he was concerned about the woman and he remained at the scene to check on her.

"Neither alcohol or drugs are suspected as a factor in this collision," the law enforcement said, according to the outlet. "All parties remained at scene. No further information will be made available."

Actor Jake Steinfeld of "Body by Jake" was also on scene.

News of the crash comes after Schwarzenegger's divorce from Maria Shriver was finalized in December.

Shriver initiated the divorce after learning that Schwarzenegger was allegedly involved with a member of the family's staff, with whom he had fathered a child.

The Hill has reached out to the LAPD for comment.
