Schedule includes WBA's baseball tournament and Too Cool for the Outdoor Pool swim meet

Even though it's not officially summer, you might call this the first weekend of summer and that means some kind of sporting events in Watertown.

Two notable sporting events are on tap this weekend, the Watertown Baseball Association's Pizza Ranch Baseball Tournament and the Watertown Area Swim Club's Too Cool for the Outdoor Pool meet.

Fifty teams are entered in the WBA tourney, which runs Saturday and Sunday. Games are scheduled for to be played at Koch Complex, Foundation Fields and Watertown Stadium.

The swim meet runs Saturday and Sunday.

Swimming

Warm-ups open at 8:30 a.m., with swimming set to start at 9:30 a.m.

Morning sessions each day will include 10-and-under swimmers with events Saturday including the 50-yard breaststroke, 25 backstroke, 100 individual medley, 50 backstroke, 25 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle.

Sunday's events include 50 butterfly, 25 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 25 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle.

Swimmers 11-and-above will swim in the afternoon sessions each day. Events Saturday include ages 11-12 (50 breaststroke, 25 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 individual medley, 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle) and 13-and-over (200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 400 individual medley).

Sunday's events are 11-12 (50 butterfly, 25 backstroke, 50 backstroke, 25 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 200 individual medley) and 13-and-over (100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle.

Baseball

Here's the schedule for the tourney. The U8 and U9 divisions at Koch Complex will be completed on Saturday. The U10-U13 divisions at Foundation Fields and the U14 division at Watertown Stadium have games both days.
