Ryan Neal credits players-only meeting for Seahawks’ defensive turnaround
Don’t look now, but the Seahawks defense is back on track after beginning the season as one of the worst units in the NFL. Over the last two weeks, Seattle’s defense has tightened up a great deal after allowing 39 points in a loss to the Saints and 45 in a win over the Lions. The improvement is apparent at all three levels – their pass rush is getting home, their linebackers are tackling and the coverage on the back end is far more crisp.
Safety Ryan Neal earned the team’s highest grade on defense this week. Afterwards, he told reporters that a players-only meeting led by Quandre Diggs, Jordyn Brooks and Al Woods helped inspire this change.
