What is the Rutgers football 2023 schedule?

While the 2022 season is far from over, fans can already start marking the calendar for games next year. On Wednesday, the 2023 schedule was released, and it is full of intriguing matchups for the Scarlet Knights.

Next year Rutgers opens their season with a home game against Northwestern on September 2. Outside of the COVID-19 season, next season will mark the first time Rutgers begins the season against a Big Ten opponent since joining the league. After hosting Temple, Virginia Tech will travel to Piscataway for the first time since 2003.

Although the Scarlet Knights will have the comforts of SHI Stadium for the majority of the start of the season, their longest road trip will be late in the season. On November 11, Ru will travel to Kinnick Stadium to take on Iowa before traveling to State College to take on Penn State on November 18.
