Russell Wilson cleared to play this week for Seahawks

Russell Wilson is back.

According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, the doctor who performed the surgery on the Seahawks’ franchise quarterback’s finger has cleared Wilson to return to the lineup and play the Packers on Sunday.

Wilson has been out since the third quarter of Week 5, when he hurt his throwing hand hitting Aaron Donald’s helmet during his throwing motion.

The injury broke an impressive streak of 149 straight games played for Wilson in the regular season. During the time he was out, Seattle went 1-2 with Geno Smith as their starter.

At 3-5 on the season, their position could certainly be better. However, the bottom of the playoff picture in the NFC looks ripe for a comeback by Seattle.
