Royse City Bulldogs earn All-District 10-6A honors in football
Dec. 15—Led by placekicker Cooper Crawford, the Royse City Bulldogs claimed some top honors on the All-District 10-6A football team.
Crawford, a senior punter-placekicker, earned the Special Teams Most Valuable Player award after booting 28-of-28 extra points and 15-of-19 field goal attempts. His longest field goal was from 50 yards.
He also averaged 34.7 yards per punt with eight inside the 20-yard line. His longest punt was 55 yards.
He also recorded 15 touchbacks on 52 kickoffs.
Royse City senior offensive lineman Reuben Lopez, who helped the 3-7 Bulldogs average 266 yards and 26.8 points per game, was a unanimous selection on offense.
Inside linebacker Nicholas Weaver of Royse City earned first-team honors on defense.
Royse City wide receiver Ja'Cori Williams, tight end Hayden Herndon and lineman Harrison Hays were named to the second offense.
Royse City defensive back Lukas Olvera was named to the second defense.
Rockwall's 11-2 district champions led the voting. Yellowjacket running back Ashten Emory was named the district's Most Valuable Player.
Rockwall's Landy Locke and Mason Marshall, who split time at quarterback, shared the Offensive MVP award.
The Rockwall coaching staff, led by head coach Trey Brooks, earned the Coaching Staff of the Year award.
The Defensive MVP award went to Rockwall-Heath safety Brady Luff.
