Royals sign utility player Adam Frazier to one-year deal, per reports
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City continues to strengthen its roster with the signing of another veteran utility player.
The Royals signed former Baltimore Oriole Adam Frazier to a one-year deal according to MLB Network insider, Jon Heyman.
A report from MLB.com’s Anne Rogers says Frazier’s deal is a one-year, $2 million deal with an $8.5 million mutual option for 2025.
The option includes a $2.5 million buyout which makes the full deal worth a guaranteed $4.5 million.

The 32-year-old hit .240/.300/.396 with 21 doubles, a career-high 13 home runs and a 93 wRC+ in 2023 with the American League East champion Orioles.
He bounced back some from the previous two years with the Seattle Mariners (.612 OPS in ‘22) and San Diego Padres (.662 OPS after being traded from the Pittsburgh Pirates at the ‘21 Trade Deadline).
Frazier played in 130 games at second base and 10 in the outfield last season.
The 2021 All-Star (while with the Pirates) also has a 13% strikeout rate for his career and a 6.5% swinging strike rate including a 14.9% strikeout rate last year, along with a 7% walk rate.
