Royals pitcher Cole Ragans named opening day starter
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Royals ace Cole Ragans has been announced as the opening day starter vs. the Minnesota Twins.
This comes as no surprise as Ragans performed at an elite level when he was traded from the Texas Rangers to Kansas City last June.

Last season, Ragans numbers drastically improved on the Royals. He went 5-2 in 12 games and finished with a 2.64 ERA along with 89 strikeouts.
He also received the AL Pitcher of the Month Award for the month of August.
This is Ragans third season in the majors, and himself and the Royals will have increased expectations with an improved roster and young talent.
