Roundup: Granville girls basketball wins season opener against Columbus Academy

Elle Mortimer scored 13 of her team-high 16 points in the first quarter of her varsity debut Monday, leading the Granville girls basketball team to a 58-18 victory against visiting Columbus Academy in the season opener.

Harper Annarino added 13 points and Aliyah Moore 11 for the Blue Aces, who hit five 3-pointers and held the Vikings to three field goals in the first half.

Lakewood girls win

Vica Pletcher rolled games of 170 and 191 at Park Lanes, helping the Lakewood girls total 1,802 in a narrow victory against New Lexington, 1,751, and Heath, 1,716.

Amy Smith and Riley Bloise each added a high game of 161, Savannah Zwayer 151 and Peyton Mellring 150 for the Lancers.

Kat Boyd rolled a high game of 211 for the Bulldogs. Kirsten Cheek added games of 170 and 163, Faith Westbrook a high game of 171 and Leala Bemus 158.

Tyler Hudson’s games of 205 and 217 helped the Heath boys total 2,192, beating New Lexington, 1,831 and Lakewood, 1,649.

Payton Love added a high game of 223, Oliver Walton 194, Reese Henderson 183 and Josh Dover 174.

Logan Streets’ high game of 180 led the Lancers. C.J. Bateman added a high game of 161.
