Rookie Report: Brandin Podziemski records third double-double of season in loss vs. Bucks

On the second leg of a back-to-back against the Bucks in Milwaukee, the Golden State Warriors were missing multiple key players, including Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Draymond Green and Gary Payton II.

Without four key players, Steve Kerr leaned on rookie Brandin Podziemski in a return to his home state of Wisconsin against the Bucks.

Although it wasn’t enough to secure a short-handed win over Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Podziemski registered his third double-double of his rookie campaign on Saturday night.

The Santa Clara product stuffed the box score against the Bucks, tallying 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field to go along with 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 36 minutes. Podziemski buried three triples on five attempts from beyond the arc.

Podziemski’s 23-point performance was his first double-figure scoring effort in his last three games. The rookie guard is averaging 10.8 points on 47.2% shooting from the field and 40.4% from deep, with 6.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 29.2 minutes per contest over his last 12 games.
