Roberto Luongo unveils beautiful new goalie mask for 2018-19 season
Goaltender swag is one of the best parts of hockey, as they’re really are the only ones in the game that are given a little bit of creative freedom with what they wear on the ice. And there’s something to be said about a goalie who dresses to impress.
Someone who should be expected to put together a good look is Florida Panthers netminder Roberto Luongo. After all, he has been in the National Hockey League for 19 seasons now.
The veteran tendy, who recently shared a few snapshots of his brand new mask on Instagram, is certainly not planning to disappoint his fans during the upcoming season.

As you can see, the design of this mask is pretty amazing. In my opinion, the Panthers have always had one of the better logos in the league and it looks even more amazing in gold.
But, this does bring up the debate. Which Florida goalie’s mask is the greatest of all-time? Luongo’s or John Vanbiesbrouck’s?
I am going to side with Vanbiesbrouck, just for the simplicity. I mean, I’m sure Luongo’s checks off a lot of aesthetically-pleasing boxes, and I’m sure every mask designer would laugh at my decision, but I will stand behind Vanbiesbrouck beautiful bucket.
There is a competition brewing in the state of Florida between goalies and their masks, as Tampa’s Andrei Vasilevskiy will be dawning an unreal mask that changes colour when exposed to water.
Yes, you read that correctly.
