Robert Woods calls SoFi Stadium ‘the best stadium in the NFL’ and can’t wait for fans to fill it

Rams season ticket holders were treated to their first in-person experience at SoFi Stadium over the weekend, as fans were allowed to visit the magnificent building and sit in their seats to take in the view they’ll have for years to come. Not a single fan was able to attend a Rams home game last year due to the pandemic, which made the opening of the $5 billion stadium a bit anticlimactic.

But restrictions are slowly but surely being lifted across the country and the anticipation is that fans will be allowed to attend games at SoFi Stadium next season, even if just at a limited capacity. Robert Woods is looking forward to having Rams supporters cheering the team on in Inglewood after an unprecedented season of playing in empty stadiums.

“Last year, you go to the stadium, it’s quiet, you hear the air conditioner running. It’s like a glorified scrimmage,” he said on the Dan Patrick Show recently. “I look forward to having fans come back into our stadium and really being able to see our stadium for the first time. It’s really a great atmosphere. Can’t wait for SoFi Stadium to be filled, infinity board to be seen. I think we have the best stadium in the NFL and it needs to be filled with fans – screaming Rams fans. And from a player’s perspective, just feeling that energy again. It makes the moments even bigger, it makes the wins more enjoyable, being able to interact with fans when you score touchdowns. It’s very, very meaningful. Can’t wait for these things to get back into play and pack out our new stadium if possible.”

Next year’s Super Bowl will be played at SoFi Stadium, too, which means the Rams will try to become the second team ever to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. The Buccaneers, of course, just became the first team in NFL history to do so this year, beating the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVI.

Having fans there to cheer on Woods, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald and every other player should provide a spark to the team as they try to make a deep playoff run.
