Ridiculously early 2021 power rankings leave Cardinals out of top 10

We barely finished the 2020 NFL season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl, but we already have power rankings for the upcoming 2021 season. Touchdown Wire’s Mark Schofield did not do a complete ranking of all 32 teams moving forward but did rank the top 10.

The Arizona Cardinals did not make it into that top 10, nor did they even get honorable mention.

The Cardinals were considered a dark-horse team all last offseason who could surprise people. They did begin the season on pace to make the postseason but faltered late and ended 8-8. Now they face big questions in the offseason. Larry Fitzgerald could retire. Cornerback Patrick Peterson could be headed elsewhere as he enters free agency. Linebacker Haason Reddick will be a free agent after a breakout season. Running back Kenyan Drake also will be a free agent.

Quarterback Kyler Murray is still improving but, at a glance for the upcoming season, the Cardinals might be projected to be a last-place team in 2021 in the NFC West.
