The Republic's 2024 All-Arizona high school baseball team, Player of the Year finalists

With the season over, it is time to hand out the postseason honors. Here are The Republic's 12 All-Arizona high school baseball players for the 2024 season. They all are finalists for the Republic's Player of the Year, which will be announced during the Arizona High School Sports Awards on June 17 at Arizona Financial Theater, sponsored by Diamond Kitchen & Bath. It's produced in partnership with Western States Home Services.

The Republic's All-Arizona baseball team

Shawn Barros, Tucson Salpointe Catholic, RHP, Sr.

A talented two-way player who hit .487 with 38 hits, 15 doubles and 29 RBIs, he went 8-2 on the mound with a 1.52 ERA. He struck out 70 in 55.1 innings. He is committed to Grand Canyon.

Cam Caminiti, Saguaro, LHP/OF, Sr.

He dominated on the mound and was one of the toughest outs at the plate, leading the Sabercats to their first state baseball title since 2011. He hit .493, collecting 34 hits and driving in 28 runs. He had four doubles, five triples and three homers, and he was walked 40 times. He was 9-0 on the mound with a 0.93 ERA striking out 119 batters in 52.2 innings, walking 14.

Johnny Casale, Brophy Prep, LHP, Sr.

Great fielding pitcher who can hit, he was the ace of one of the deepest pitching staffs in the state, taking the ball in the biggest games. He won two 6A state tournament games. He posted an 8-2 record over 12 starts with a 1.82 ERA and 62 strikeouts. He hit .329 on the season with six doubles. He has signed with LMU of the West Coast Conference.

Tyler Hatch, Casteel, IF, Sr.

Helped lead the Colts to a second straight 5A championship, hitting .462 with 42 hits and 31 RBI and 25 runs scored. He had seven doubles and three home runs.

Boston Kellner, Hamilton, IF, Jr.

Outstanding two-way player who hit .462 with a team-best 48 hits. He drove in 29 runs, hit 14 doubles and 12 home runs.

Ky McGary, Sandra Day O’Connor, OF, Sr.

An Arizona State signee, he led O'Connor to the 6A championship game, hitting .385 with 40 hits, 31 runs and 30 RBIs. He had five home runs.

Tait Reynolds, Queen Creek, OF, So.

He came through in the bottom of the 10th-inning with a bases-loaded walk to beat Sandra Day O'Connor 7-6 for the 6A state title. A big arm in center field, he's one of the state's top athletes, who is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the state.

Drew Rogers, Chandler Hamilton, Catcher, Sr.

Moved in last summer from Minnesota, where he was that state's Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior, he made an immediate impact at Hamilton, hitting .458 with 44 hits, 42 RBIs, 14 doubles and 11 home runs. He has signed with Georgia Tech.

Mason Russell, Casteel, LHP, Sr.

A dominant left-hander who pitched a complete-game win over Sunrise Mountain for the 5A championship. The Arizona signee went 7-0 with a 2.02 ERA. He pitched the second no-hitter in the history of the National High School Baseball Invitational in North Carolina. He struck out 78 in 59 innings.

Gavin Smith, Basha, IF, Sr.

The Harvard commit lead the Bears to the 6A semifinals. He hit .440, had and .892 slugging percentage. He had 27 RBIs and 12 home runs.

Cade Shumard, Saguaro, OF/P, Sr.

Talented two-way player, he pitched two no-hitters in the 4A state tournament, and hit .403 with 31 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has signed with New Mexico State.

Ryker Waite, Queen Creek, IF, Jr.

One of the best fielding shortstops in the state, he saved many games with his glove and his bat, as the Bulldogs won the 6A state championship, the school's first state baseball title since 1989.
