Report: Rich Scangarello won’t return as Eagles’ senior offensive assistant

Doug Pederson hinted at reducing the number of voices inside the Eagles’ inner circle and the staff reductions have started on the offensive side of the ball.

Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan are reporting that Eagles’ senior offensive assistant, Rich Scangarello, won’t be returning to the team in that role.

Scangarello was added to the Eagles coaching staff to help improve the offense and the total opposite took place.

Scangarello came to the Eagles as a disciple of Kyle Shanahan, which was supposed to excite Eagles fans looking for further offensive innovation.

Scangarello’s specialty was excelling in the run game with pre-snap motion and misdirection that Shanahan’s 49ers team performs so well.
