Report: Eagles DE Graham may miss OTAs after surgery

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end and Super Bowl hero Brandon Graham is reportedly recovering from surgery on his right ankle which could force him to miss the team's spring workout program.

Although the 30-year-old Graham is expected to report for the start of the Eagles' organized team activities on Monday, ESPN, citing sources, reports that the eight-year veteran underwent the procedure -- which supposedly helps with healing for high ankle sprains -- on May 1 and is wearing a protective boot. According to the report, the team's goal is to have Graham ready for training camp in July, meaning he could be sidelined for both OTAs and minicamp.

Graham originally hurt his ankle on Christmas night against the Oakland Raiders. After sitting out the team's season finale along with many other key players resting for the postseason, Graham played through the injury on the Eagles' Super Bowl run. Graham famously notched a crucial strip sack and forced fumble of Tom Brady late in Philadelphia's 41-33 win over New England in Super Bowl LII.

Graham had a career-high 9.5 sacks last season and earned second-team All-Pro honors. He enters this season in the final year of his current contract and has reportedly pushed the organization for a more lucrative extension.

For his career, Graham has 278 tackles, 38.5 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in 111 games (54 starts). The 6-foot-2, 265-pound defensive lineman was originally drafted in the first round (No. 13 overall) in 2010.
