Registration is now open for Saturday's Evan Chambers baseball camp

LAKELAND — The Evan Michael Chambers LOVE Foundation’s annual baseball camp is back for its sixth year and will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Peterson Park.

The annual event, which is dedicated to former Lakeland standout Evan Chambers, who died in 2013 of a heart condition when he was a Pittsburgh Pirates minor leaguer, is for boys and girls from ages 5-12.

The professional baseball players scheduled to attend include Chambers’ high school teammates Chris Sale, who is now with Atlanta after being traded by the Red Sox, and Drew Hutchison, currently a free agent. Tampa Bay Rays minor leaguer Brock Jones will also be at the camp.
