What do we really know about Scott Tolzien?
On paper Indianapolis Colts’ backup quarterback Scott Tolzien is a six-year veteran. But tomorrow night he will be the starter for the Colts.
The same Colts team that enters the game at 5-5 and in a race for the AFC South.
After Andrew Luck, not surprisingly, was ruled out of today’s game the reigns were turned over to Tolzien. But what can we expect from the career backup?
Over the last five seasons, Tolzien has appeared in just 6 games (2 starts). In that time he has completed 61 percent of his passes (56-91) for 721 yards. About what you can expect from a backup. However, his touchdown to interception ratio is rather alarming (1-5).

Expect a heavy dose of Frank Gore early and often tomorrow night against the Steelers.
The Steelers defense is giving up 95 yards a game on the ground right now (9th in the NFL). So the matchup does not exactly play into the Colts hand.
Especially when you factor in that the Steelers will be banking on this.
Over their last two matchups the Steelers have outscored the Colts 96-44. Including the 45-10 beat-down last season when Luck did not play.
Translation? We could be in a for a long game tomorrow night.
