Razorbacks sweep Alabama-Birmingham, giving up just one run in three games

The Arkansas softball team entered the weekend having lost three of its last four games, including falling to Central Arkansas for a second time on the season.

Alabama-Birmingham proved just the cure.

The Razorbacks took all three games on the weekend against UAB, including Sunday’s 6-0 capper over the Blazers. In all, Arkansas outscored UAB, 22-1. The Hogs host Texas A&M-Commerce on Tuesday before getting back into SEC play on the weeked against Kentucky in Lexington.

Raigan Kramer hit a three-run home run in the fourth and Rylin Hedgecock added a solo shot in the fifth. On the other side, Arkansas pitchers Calli Turner and Nikki McGaffin allowed just one hit and didn’t walk a batter while striking out seven.

Fifteen games into SEC play, the Razorbacks find themselves in a tie for fourth at 9-6. They’re one game back of second-place Georgia alongside Alabama and Auburn.

First pitch on Tuesday is at 4 p.m.
