Randy Gradishar, Jim Marshall named senior semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame 2024 class

Two former Ohio State football players could have a chance at making the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Former Ohio State linebacker Randy Gradishar and defensive end Jim Marshall were two of 31 senior semifinalists eligible for election in the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 2024 class.

The Seniors Committee will meet Aug. 22 and may select up to three seniors for final consideration for the Hall of Fame's 2024 class.

After being a two-time All-American linebacker and finishing sixth in the 1973 Heisman Trophy voting at Ohio State, Gradishar played 10 seasons for the Denver Broncos, making seven Pro Powls and winning the Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year in 1978 along with being a two-time first-team All-Pro.

In 145 games, Gradishar finished with 20 interceptions and 13 fumble recoveries, while also recording 19.5 sacks.

Marshall, who won a national championship with the Buckeyes in 1957 and was an All-American in 1958, played 282 consecutive games with the Minnesota Vikings, 58 more than any other defensive lineman and more than any other defensive player in NFL history.

In a 20-year career with the Vikings and the Cleveland Browns, Marshall recorded 130.5 sacks, including four seasons with 10 sacks or more. he was a two-time Pro Bowler.

Ohio State has the fourth-most representatives in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with 10, sitting behind Notre Dame (13), Southern California (13) and Michigan (11).
