Raiders promote QB coach Bo Hardegree to offensive coordinator
With the firings of Josh McDaniels and Mick Lombardi, the Raiders needed to promote someone to run the offense and call the plays. There were a few internal candidates, including Scott Turner and Edgar Bennett. But the Raiders decided to go in a different direction for the remainder of the season.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Raiders are promoting quarterback coach Bo Hardegree to be the offensive coordinator. While it hasn’t been announced or confirmed, the expectation is that he will call plays for the offense this season.

Hardegree, 39, has been a coach in the NFL since 2014. He worked with Adam Gase in Denver, and then again in Miami and in New York (Jets). He was with McDaniels in New England and followed him to Las Vegas when he was hired in 2022.
Hardegree was a quarterback at Tennessee from 2004 to 2007, but he never attempted a pass during his career in the SEC. Now, he’ll be the offensive coordinator of the Raiders for the remainder of the season.
