Purdue football gets Texas quarterback Hudson Card in transfer portal, per reports

The transfer portal is working overtime at Purdue on Monday.

The Boilermakers are reportedly adding former Texas quarterback Hudson Card. ESPN's Pete Thamel had the initial report.

Card has been with the Longhorns for three years, playing sparingly in the first two. In 2022, he completed 75-of-108 passes for 928 yards, 6 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Card filled in for the injured Quinn Ewers early in the season, going 2-2 (wins over Texas-San Antonio and West Virginia, losses to Alabama and Texas Tech). He has thrown just 1 pass since Oct. 1.

This comes on the heels of Purdue freshman Brady Allen entering the transfer portal. He completed 1-of-3 passes for 8 yards.

Sixth-year Boilers QB Aidan O'Connell opted out of the Citrus Bowl to prepare for the NFL Draft. Austin Burton, another sixth-year player, will lead Purdue against LSU.
