Purdue basketball adds Gicarri Harris, son of Glenn Robinson, to 2024 class
WEST LAFAYETTE − Purdue basketball coach Matt Painter has a roster that currently includes three sons of Painter's former Boilermaker teammates.
Painter can now include the son of Painter's most talented teammate.
Gicarri Harris, son of Purdue legend Glenn Robinson, announced he's the sixth member of a highly-touted Purdue 2024 class.

Robinson was the 1994 consensus National Player of the Year and the No. 1 overall pick in that year's NBA draft.
Harris joins an incoming Purdue class that already was ranked ninth by 247Sports. His commitment was first reported by On3's Joe Tipton with a social media post re-shared by Harris on X. Harris signed with the Boilermakers on Thursday, boosting the class to 247Sports' No. 7 class for next season.
It is Purdue's highest-ranked class since 2007, a group that included E'Twaun Moore, Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and Scott Martin.
Along with Harris, Purdue's now six-player class includes Jack Benter, Raleigh Burgess, Kanon Catchings, CJ Cox and Daniel Jacobsen.
Harris is a 6-foor-4 shooting guard from Grayson High School outside of Atlanta. He's the 75th-ranked recruit nationally by 247Sports.
Last week, Harris whittled his list of suitors down to Purdue and Georgia Tech.
As a junior at Grayson, Harris averaged 17.1 points and 3.5 assists per game.
"Gicarri gives us a lot of versatility in the backcourt. He can play both positions and can guard a lot of people," Painter said in a release. "You want guys that can play multiple positions, that can handle the ball and facilitate and then play off the ball, and Gicarri can do that.
"What really gives him the total package is his ability to defend. He takes a lot of pride in his defense. We recruited him for a long time and every time we watched him, he just did whatever it took to win at both the AAU and high school levels. He’s very competitive and has been a winner at all levels."
