Pulaski records four wins at Cardinal Classic

Mar. 25—The Pulaski County Maroons traveled to London on Friday to take part in the Cardinal Classic hosted by South Laurel High School. They had several high finishers, including taking home four first-place finishes.

In the boys' 100m, freshman Kasen Brock finished in seventh with a time of 11.87, junior Tristan Weddle finished 13th with a time of 12.26, freshman Hayden Vaught finished 16th with a time of 12.43 and sophomore Bryan Ford finished 20th with a time of 12.60.

In the boys' 200m, Weddle finished ninth with a time of 24.67, Brock finished 12th with a time of 25.16, sophomore Bryson Mounce finished 19th with a time of 26.00 and freshman Jack Furr finished 25th with a time of 26.39.

In the boys' 400m, freshman Hunter Black finished in 19th with a time of 1:01.16.

In the boys' 800m, freshman Abel Super finished 16th with a time of 2:32.80.

In the boys' 1600m, sophomore Micah Super placed 20th with a time of 6:08.17, with his freshman teammate Wyatt Fenison finishing right behind him in 21st with a time of 6:08.41.

In the boys' 3200m, Micah Super finished in fifth with a time of 13:47.52.

In the boys' 110m hurdles, eighth grader Charlie Turner finished in fifth with a time of 19.70.

Pulaski's team of Gavin Atwell, Winston Ford, Tristan Weddle and Kasen Brock finished third in the boys' 4x100m relay with a time of 46.44.

In the boys' 4x200m relay, Pulaski's team of Winston Ford, Hayden Vaught, Eli Thayer and Bryson Mounce finished in fourth with a time of 1:42.78.

In the boys' 4x800m relay, Pulaski's team of Micah Super, Abel Super, Wyatt Fenison and Hunter Black finished in sixth with a time of 10:04.78.

In the boys' high jump, junior Logan Stamper finished in a tie for second with a height of 5-8, with freshman Cohen Finley finishing fourth with a height of 5-6.

In the boys' long jump, Jack Furr finished sixth with a distance of 17-11.75.

In the boys' discus, freshman Brayan Ramirez finished ninth with a distance of 85-5.

In the girls' 100m, junior Emma Coomer just missed out on the top spot, finishing second with a time of 12.89. Other finishers included senior Abbee Coomer in fourth with a time of 13.53, sophomore Brooklynn Sandlin in fifth with a time of 13.61 and senior Lexi Lawless in eighth with a time of 13.93.

In the girls' 200m, freshman Aubrey Richardson finished in third place with a time of 29.44 and Sandlin finished in 18th with a time of 34.35.

In the girls' 400m, freshman Maliyah Swinney finished seventh with a time of 1:09.10 and junior Simi McAlpin finished 13th with a time of 1:23.23.

In the girls' 800m, sophomore Hannah Murray placed seventh with a time of 2:42.80 and eighth grader Isabella Chandler finished 14th with a time of 3:07.80.

In the girls' 1600m, sophomore Maggie Bertram finished in second place with a time of 5:49.29.

In the girls' 3200m, freshman Hailey Slaven finished fourth with a time of 16:25.22.

Pulaski's team of Kenzie Cupp, Abbee Coomer, Brooklynn Sandlin and Emma Coomer won the girls' 4x100m relay with a time of 51.15.

In the girls' 4x200m relay, Pulaski's team of Cupp, Sandlin, Emma Coomer and Aubrey Richardson took home another first place finish, winning in a time of 1:44.10.

In the girls' high jump, Hannah Murray finished third with a height of 4-6.

In the girls' long jump, Maliyah Swinney finished second with a distance of 15-4.75, with Aubrey Richardson finishing fourth with a distance of 14-5.

In the girls' triple jump, Swinney again finished second with a distance of 31-6.50, with Kenzie Cupp finishing fifth with a distance of 30-1.

Lexi Lawless won the girls' discus with a distance of 102-8 and also took home the win in the girls' shot put with a distance of 36-2.

Pulaski will next compete at the Madison Central All-Comers meet on Tuesday.
