Puka Nacua wins Rookie of the Week for 3rd time in 7 games

You can’t stop Puka Nacua, you can only hope to contain him. At least, that’s the sentiment when it comes to the NFL’s Rookie of the Week award.

For the third time in seven games this season, Nacua has been named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week. This one was for his performance against the Steelers, catching eight passes for 154 yards to lead the team in both categories.

He now has a league-high 58 catches in seven games and is one of two rookies in NFL history with at least 700 yards receiving in his first seven games; Ja’Marr Chase is the other.

Nacua also won Rookie of the Week honors in Weeks 2 and 4. In Week 2 against the 49ers, he caught 15 passes for 147 yards, and two weeks later, he had nine catches for a career-high 163 yards and the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

This is the fourth time in seven weeks that a Rams player has won the award, with Byron Young also claiming the title in Week 6.
