2024 Providence Journal All State Boys Basketball
First Team
Camden DiChiara
Lincoln, Senior
Guard
DiChiara proved he’s more than just a tennis star. The state’s premiere sniper — he led the state with 93 3-pointers — DiChiara put together a terrific senior season that saw him average 22.5 points, six rebounds and help Lincoln to an undefeated Division II title and run at the final four. He’ll continue his basketball career next winter playing for UMass Dartmouth.
Matt Raffa
Barrington, Senior
Guard
Raffa has been a scorer since he put on an Eagles uniform as a freshman but he took his game to new heights this year. Raffa was the best pure shooter in Division I and averaged 22.2 points per game. He was the focal point for a Barrington team that made the final four at the state tourney. In his four years, Raffa scored over 1,500 points and is still deciding on his future plans.
Eliezer Delbrey
Classical, Sophomore
Guard/Forward
A different player starred every night for the Purple, but in the postseason Delbrey took over games and became a star. The sophomore averaged 16 points and eight rebounds this winter, but in the postseason he was a walking double-double. Delbrey was instrumental in Classical’s comeback win in the D-I title game and earned MVP honors after helping the Purple win the state tournament.
Wayne McNamara
Lincoln, Senior
Guard/Forward
This season really was Wayne’s world. McNamara was the most dominant player in the state all winter, taking over games when he needed to and taking Lincoln to historic heights. He averaged 24.8 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists, was named Gatorade Player of the Year and ended his career as the Lions’ all-time leading scorer. He’ll try to walk on at Brown University next season.
Nick Scandura
Barrington, Senior
Forward
The state’s best inside-outside threat, Scandura could body you inside or beat you deep. A second-team selection in 2023, Scandura stepped up big this year averaged 19.3 points and 7.6 rebounds a game while hitting 39 3-pointers — not bad for a 6-foor-6 big. Scandura will take his game to Wheaton next winter.
Rex Zadrozny
La Salle, Senior
Center
In an age where the game is played from the outside, Zadrozny dominated from underneath the basket. Zadrozny cleaned up on the glass and La Salle wasn’t afraid to pump it to him on the block when it needed a basket because nobody was better down low. He helped the Rams reach the D-I and state title games after averaging 15 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
