Saturday's results

GIRLS SOCCER

SPRINGFIELD HIGH 7, ATHENS 0: At Athens, Kamryn Hoffman registered a hat trick and two assists to lift the Senators to 6-2 overall.

She found the net in the first six minutes before scoring again on a Zoe Wall assist for a 3-0 halftime lead. She assisted the team’s final two goals on corner kicks to Savannah Murphy and Ainsley Lambert, who scored twice.

Bridget Lyons chalked up a goal on a throw-in during the first half. Athens fell to 7-1.

RIVERTON/BUFFALO TRI-CITY 1, NORTH MAC 1: At Riverton, Sophia Hawkins netted the game-tying goal on a penalty kick to begin the second half for North Mac.

Ella Christopher had five saves for the Panthers (1-8-1).

Riverton’s Keirstan Shamblin scored on a Natalie Smaga assist in the first half. Briannah Walker had three saves for the Hawknadoes (2-8-2).

SOFTBALL

BLOOMINGTON CENTRAL CATHOLIC 1, ROCHESTER 0 (5 innings): At Peoria Notre Dame, Mylie Deatherage yielded one unearned run on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts in the loss.

The Saints scored in the third inning on a Summer Clark ground ball and defensive error. Lindsey Warmbir had two hits for BCC.

ROCHESTER 6, DUNALP 1 (6 innings): At Peoria Notre Dame, Peyton Purves produced two hits and four RBIs in the win, including a double.

Samantha Cory also had a hit, RBI and two runs. Jaelyn Watts earned the win over six innings, yielding eight hits, one walk and one run with five strikeouts.

PLEASANT PLAINS 6, SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 1: At Comstock Field, Faith Nestler fanned 12 in a complete-game victory.

She gave up four hits and no walks with one run. Delaney Murphy, Lexie Shimkus and Aspen Kitowski each had two hits. Shimkus had two RBIs to go with her two runs.

Libby Kulek had two hits for SHG.

GILLESPIE 12, CENTRALIA 0 (5 innings): At Centralia, pitcher Emma Gipson tossed a one-hit five-inning shutout as the Miners rolled to a nonconference win.

Gipson struck out 11 and walked none. Leadoff hitter Ava Parish went 3-for-4 with a double, scored three runs and delivered two RBIs for Gillespie. Sadie Sholtis had two hits and three RBIs, and Lauren Bertagnolli and Addi Cox both had a hit and two RBIs apiece.

Macie Wright finished 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win.

EAST PEORIA 6, WILLIAMSVILLE 3: At East Peoria, Noami Roberts went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run in a nonconference loss.

Annika Rosencrans recorded the win in a complete game. She gave up three hits, three walks and three runs with five strikeouts.

Elle Smithers gave up six runs but just one earned in six innings.

PANA 8, BUFFALO TRI-CITY 4: At Macon, Shelby Ashcraft blasted a three-run home run in the Panthers’ five-run first inning of a nonconference victory.

Allie Sarver delivered a two-run triple in the first and Pana added a run each over the next three innings and led 8-0. Winning pitcher Joey Laker allowed 10 hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts and two walks.

Audrey Cooper had a hit and two RBIs and Lexi Patton (2-for-4, two runs) homered for Tri-City.

MACON MERIDIAN 5, PANA 4 (8 innings): At Macon, Shelby Renfro hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth inning as Meridian escaped.

Pana tied the game at four apiece when it scored twice in the top of the seventh on a line drive home run to left field by Joey Laker.

Izzy Reed went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI for Pana. Kennedy Bowker scored a run and finished 2-for-5.

BUFFALO TRI-CITY 7, MACON MERIDIAN 1: At Macon, Lily Woodworth amassed 16 strikeouts in a complete-game victory. She gave up three hits, four walks and one run.

Kamryn Sturdy churned out two doubles with an RBI and two runs.

Hayli Ferriell had two hits and two RBIs while Audrey Cooper had a double and two runs. Tiffany Farley mustered a hit with two RBIs and two runs.

BRAIDWOOD REED-CUSTER 10, AUBURN 9: At Pontiac, Meena Taylor and Addison Wheatly each had three hits and two RBIs, but the Trojans’ rally came up short in a nonconference loss.

Auburn scored four runs in the sixth to pare the deficit to one and totaled 15 hits. Addison Jones had three hits and three runs in the leadoff spot. Piper Taylor had two hits with two RBIs and one run.

Amber Syc led Reed-Custer with three hits and two runs.

Meena Taylor reached 500 career strikeouts in the second game against Pontiac.

RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 11, GREENFIELD 1 (5 innings): At Raymond, Tori Elvidge dialed up 10 strikeouts and Lincolnwood scored early to put away the visitors.

Elvidge allowed two hits and walked four. The Lancers scored five runs in the first and six in the second. Ella Jenkins drove in three runs and Taryn Clarke and Morgan Cowdrey had two RBIs apiece for Lincolnwood.

CAMP POINT CENTRAL 10, BEARDSTOWN 1 (5 innings): At Beardstown, the Tigers committed seven errors and Camp Point had a couple of big hits in the win.

Of the ten runs scored, losing pitcher Shelby Goodrich allowed just one earned run on five hits. She struck out six and walked none.

Olivia Hofmann had one of the big hits for Camp Point, belting a three-run home run in a four-run third inning. Haley Lawson finished 2-for-2 and Bella Palmer had a hit and scored the only run for Beardstown.

BRIMFIELD 8, HAVANA 4: At Brimfield, the hosts combined to score six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to complete the victory.

Havana led 3-2 after two innings when Lily Snowden had an RBI groundout, Abby Cowell singled in a run and Jayden Stone popped a run-scoring double.

Brimfield plated four runs in the fifth off losing pitcher Libbie Johnson. Sawyer Drury went 3-for-4, scored two runs and had an RBI and Kylee Vaughn (3-for-4) doubled, tripled and drove in three for Brimfield.

DANVILLE 20, LANPHIER 0 (4 innings): At Lawless Park, Kendall Rannebarger pitched a no-hitter and Danville scored 12 runs in the first inning en route to winning the first game of a doubleheader.

Rannebarger tripled, hit an inside-the-park home run and finished 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBIs. She struck out seven and walked none.

DANVILLE 23, LANPHIER 22: At Lawless Park, the two teams combined for 24 hits and nine errors as Danville completed the doubleheader sweep.

Lanphier trailed 23-18 entering the bottom of the seventh inning and scored four runs before falling short.

Leadoff-hitter Tamiah Jefferson scored five runs, had two hits with a home run and drove in two runs for Lanphier. Losing pitcher Maylee Payne provided five RBIs and was 3-for-5 and Frankie Montgomery homered, doubled and was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs.

Maya Bennett scored five runs and added two hits for the Lions.

BOYS TENNIS

CHATHAM GLENWOOD 4, SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 1: At the Troy Triad Invite, Chatham Glenwood swept all three doubles matches to pick up a dual meet win against a conference foe.

Glenwood’s Will Ehrlich and Talha Arshad defeated Luke Harvey and Will Pittman 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (5) in a third-set tiebreak at No. 1 doubles.

Umer Khan and Giovanni Jean-Louis knocked off John Christie and Tomasz Dynda of SHG in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 (3) at No. 2. The Titans tandem of Yazan Said and Connor Pollitt took down Kaden Smith and Nathan Kanoski 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3.

Glenwood’s Ben Loeffler cruised at the No. 1 singles spot by defeating Evan Aleman 6-0, 6-1. SHG got its only win thanks to Adam Wheeling’s 6-0, 6-1 victory over Alex DeStasio at No. 2 singles.

SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 4, JERSEYVILLE 1: At the Troy Triad Invite, Wheeling and Smith both had wins in their respective singles matches to lead the Cyclones to a dual meet win.

Wheeling defeated Noah Borkowski 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 and Smith handed Dylan Molloy a 6-2, 6-1 loss at No. 2.

Harvey and Pittman were victorious at No. 1 doubles, posting a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Isaac Wargo and Dax Goetten. John Christie and Aleman beat Paul Slusser and Keegan Griffith 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot.

Jerseyville’s lone win was at No. 3 doubles when Jaxon Brunaugh and Michael Roberts beat SHG’s Aiden Grant and Joseph Bertaina 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (4).

MASCOUTAH 3, SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 2: At the Troy Triad Invite, SHG had a pair of doubles wins in the dual meet loss.

Harvey and Aleman teamed up for a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, while Pittman and Christie rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Mascoutah won both singles matches.

Friday's results

SOFTBALL

CHATHAM GLENWOOD 12, NORMAL WEST 2 (5 innings): At Chatham, winning pitcher Cassie Feld finished 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs in Game 1 of a doubleheader.

Ava Bobb went 3-for-3 with two doubles, scored three times and added an RBI for Glenwood. Feld struck out seven, walked zero and gave up three hits and two earned runs.

CHATHAM GLENWOOD 14, NORMAL WEST 0 (5 innings): At Chatham, the Titans collected 15 hits and Irie Lohrenz tossed a one-hit shutout in Game 2 of a doubleheader sweep to move to 8-0 overall.

Cassie Feld (2-for-4) and Sydney Feld both had two-run home runs. Cassie Feld added a two-run double and finished with four RBIs. Karmen Edwards went 3-for-4 with a double and ended with two RBIs and two runs.

Elizabeth Blum doubled twice and had two RBIs, while Lohrenz had total command on the mound. Lohrenz struck out seven and walked one.

AUBURN 13, RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 3: At Raymond, Auburn scored all its runs in the final four innings to record a nonconference win.

Mailee Schoen’s two-run home run in the fourth inning broke a 0-0 tie. The Trojans struck for four more runs in the fifth when two runs scored on a Lincolnwood error, Fayth Millwee walked with the bases full, and winning pitcher Sydney Rabideau grounded out into a fielder’s choice.

Auburn’s Meena Taylor finished with three hits, including an RBI double and a two-run home run. Taylor Patterson went 3-for-5 with a triple and had two RBIs and three runs scored. Addison Wheatley added two hits and two RBIs in the win.

Morgan Cowdrey popped a three-run homer for Lincolnwood.

ROCHESTER 5, NORMAL COMMUNITY 0 (6 innings): At Rochester, Jaelyn Watts hurled a three-hit shutout in the circle and the Rockets scored two runs in the first and three in the fifth inning to collect a nonconference win.

Reagan Rezba and Peyton Purves both had two hits and an RBI each. Rezba had a triple and Eleanor Schudel had a base hit and drove in two runs.

Watts fanned 11 and walked six.

MOUNT ZION 8, ATHENS 1: At Athens, the Warriors managed just two hits and lost a nonconference game to the unbeaten Braves.

Mount Zion pitchers Ella Fink and Nikki Ellegood combined to stymie Athens. Fink, the starter, earned the win, throwing four innings. She allowed two hits and one earned run, striking out four and walking two. Ellegood tossed three hitless innings, striking out one and walking two.

The Braves (10-0) scored four runs in the top-half of the first. Savannah Beiler did most of the damage for Mount Zion, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Fink had two hits and scored a run, while Addy Rotz had a solo home run.

Jaci Derringer plated Athens’ one run with an RBI single in the fourth.

CARROLLTON 12, BEARDSTOWN 0 (3 innings): At Beardstown, the Hawks defeated the Tigers in a three-inning contest.

Winning pitcher Lauren Flowers gave up three hits, striking out six and walking zero. Vanessa Nunez had two hits for Beardstown. Losing pitcher Shelby Goodrich allowed 10 runs (none earned) in 2 2/3 innings as the Tigers committed four errors.

Hannah Uhles, Hayden McMurtie and Daci Walls each homered for Carrollton.

CARLINVILLE 5, PANA 3 (8 innings): At Pana, Addison Ruyle smoked the go-ahead, two-run homer in the top of the eighth to carry the Cavaliers to a South Central Conference win.

Hannah Gibson reached on an error with one out to begin the stanza before Ruyle launched the ball deep to center field.

Ruyle ended with two hits, two RBIs and a run. Gibson and Karly Tipps had the other two hits for Carlinville.

Hallie Gibson ushered the win in a complete game. She fanned eight with six hits, three runs (two earned) and one walk allowed.

Shelby Ashcraft suffered the loss in 2⅓ innings despite just one hit allowed.

HILLSBORO 6, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 3: At Hillsboro, Ella Greenwood furnished the go-ahead, two-RBI single in the fifth to rally the Hiltoppers to a South Central Conference win.

Hillsboro scored four runs in the frame after giving up three and the two-run lead in the top half. Mikenna McSperritt led off with a triple before coming home for the game-tying run on a Briley Kirby single.

Greenwood finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs. Sophia Blankenship and Kenzie Jarman also had two hits apiece.

Anika Camp recorded the win in a complete game. She gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

PITTSFIELD 14, JACKSONVILLE 3 (5 innings): At Pittsfield, four different players delivered two RBIs in the nonconference win for Pittsfield.

Kelsey Freesmeyer and Grace Henry each had two hits and two RBIs. Taylor Peebles had a hit and two runs. Rebecca Neupauer and Lila Simon each scored three runs.

Emma Wombles struck out 11. She gave up four hits, five walks and two earned runs.

Jacksonville’s MacKenzie Gerard had two hits with an RBI and a run.

BUFFALO TRI-CITY/SANGAMON VALLEY 10, NEW BERLIN 0 (5 innings): At Buffalo, Lily Woodworth ushered 10 strikeouts in four innings while giving up just two walks and a hit.

She also had a double with two RBIs. Kamryn Sturdy blasted a home run and finished with two runs. Marlie Deerwester also had a double.

PLEASANT PLAINS 7, PEORIA NOTRE DAME 1: At Plains, Anna Nestler gave up one unearned run over five innings to pick up the nonconference win.

She allowed just three hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Nestler also delivered an RBI, along with teammates Aspen Kitowski, Hadley Ryan and Addy Davis, who had a triple.

HARDIN CALHOUN 2, SPRINGFIELD HIGH 0: At UIS, Mia Volpert struck out 10 and gave up just two runs on four hits and one walk in the nonconference loss.

Audrey Gilman won the pitcher’s duel with 18 strikeouts. She gave up just one hit and one walk. She also delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth.

NORTH MAC 8, GREENVILLE 7: At Greenville, Lennox Wiseman came around on a three-run inside-the-park homer in the top of the fourth inning and North Mac held on for a South Central Conference victory.

North Mac led 8-3 and Greenville scored the final four runs in an attempted comeback. But winning pitcher Taylor Keirs pitched a scoreless seventh highlighted when catcher Abby Hendricks threw out Greenville’s Emma Bingham (3-for-4) on an attempted steal at second base.

Ines Ortigosa cleared the bases with a three-run double as North Mac took an early 4-0 lead in the first inning.

STAUNTON 17, VANDALIA 0 (3 innings): At Vandalia, Staunton pounded out 14 hits and rolled to a South Central Conference win.

Ele Feldmann, Taylor Nolan and Lilly Bandy each went 3-for-3 and scored three runs apiece. Nolan doubled, tripled and she and Feldmann drove in three runs apiece. Gianna Bianco added two hits with a double and an RBI.

Feldmann was the winning pitcher, striking out six and walking zero. She allowed two hits.

BOYS TENNIS

SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 5, AURORA WEST 4: At the Velasco Tennis Center in Washington Park, Evan Aleman and Luke Harvey provided SHG with three points in a dual meet win.

Aleman won his No. 2 singles match in straight sets (7-5, 6-1) and Harvey recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Kaden Smith won a third-set tiebreak at No. 6 singles for the Cyclones.

Aleman and Harvey defeated Josh Hartman and Will Hipp in a well-contested match at No. 1 doubles. The SHG tandem pulled out a 5-7, 7-6 (5), 1-0 (7) victory. Adam Wheeling and Kaden Smith were 6-2, 6-1 winners at No. 3 doubles.
