Prep sports: Rigdon, West down St. Peter

ST. PETER — Hunter Rigdon scored two goals for the Mankato West boys soccer team in a 4-0 nonconference win Monday at St. Peter.

Sam Gersich and Isaac Ulman also scored for the Scarlets. Leo DeMars had two assists.

Eric Smook and Carter Schaff combined for the shutout in goal for West.

Mankato East girls 1, Fairmont 0: Ashley Fischer made one save to get the shutout for the Cougars in the win at Caswell North.

The Cougars (8-4-0) play Thursday at New Ulm.

New Prague 3, Mankato East boys 1: Griffin Asher scored the lone goal for the Cougars in a nonconference road loss.

Jhoel Dillon assisted on Asher's goal in the 10th minute. The Trojans scored three unanswered goals in the second half.

Shots favored New Prague 13-5. Owen Quist made 10 saves for the Cougars.

East 7-5-1 will host New Ulm Thursday.

Volleyball

Alden Conger 3, United South Central 0: Kendal Harpestad finished with nine kills and eight digs for the Rebels in a 25-22, 25-17, 25-22 loss.

Kiera Schultz finished with six kills and eight digs, while Madison Passer added six kills and seven digs.
