BASEBALL

WILLIAMSTON 7, IONIA 0 / WILLIAMSTON 10, IONIA 0

Richard Cuzydlo and Aiden Friess each picked up a shutout victory to lead the Hornets to a pair of nonleague wins over Ionia. Ben Convey had a home run and scored two runs in game one and Carter Gulick, Brett Palmer and Brayden Johnson each added two RBI for Williamston.

MT. PLEASANT SACRED HEART 7, MASON 4 / MASON 10, CHARLOTTE 0

FOWLER — The Bulldogs split their games at the Fowler Invitational Tyler Hall picked up a total of three hits, three RBI and three runs scored and Joey Schild added two hits and three RBI for Mason.

OKEMOS 1, DETROIT WESTERN 0 / OKEMOS 6, SALINE 2

SALINE — Keagan Noble pitched a two-hitter against Detroit Western to help the Wolves secure the victory in game one at the Saline Invitational. Nik Greborunis secured the win with a save and Jake Stagg picked up the game-winning RBI double over Detroit Western. Brennan Walton went 4-for-4 with an RBI against host Saline and Virginia commit Caleb Bonemer tacked on three hits and a double for Okemos.

LAINGSBURG 16, RUDYARD 2 / RUDYARD 20, LAINGSBURG 16

Cam Ballard went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI and Ty Randall went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored for the Wolfpack in their win. RJ Garcia had five hits and drove in three and Elliott Wilsey had four RBI in Laingsburg's loss.

BIRCH RUN d. OWOSSO / OWOSSO 6, ROGERS CITY 1

The Trojans took part in the Cat Classic picking up a win over Rogers City and dropped a game to Birch Run. Eden Ackley tallied a team-high three hits, Carson Moore notched two hits and Austin Blaha tacked on two RBI for Owosso.

SOFTBALL

FOWLERVILLE 4, PORTLAND 3 / FOWLERVILLE 4, SARANAC 0

Tommi Kleinschmidt went 3-for-4 and scored two runs, while Tori Briggs struck out six in her eight innings of work to help Fowlerville past Portland. Briggs followed by going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the Gladiators' win over Saranac.

LAINGSBURG 16, RUDYARD 0 / LAINGSBURG 12, RUDYARD 0

Addyson Buchin had a double among her two hits and drove in four runs and Ashley Bila went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the opening win for the Wolfpack. Bucin had four RBI and scored two runs and Peyton Stahr had a home run and two RB while helping Division 3 No. 2-ranked Laingsburg complete the sweep.

GIRLS TENNIS

OWOSSO 5, FLINT KEARSLEY 3

Ginger Golombisky and Lauren Collard each secured singles wins as Owosso picked up the victory over Flint Kearsley.
