Prep roundup: Laingsburg, Ionia, Okemos baseball earn sweeps

BASEBALL

OKEMOS 12, WAVERLY 2 / OKEMOS 8, WAVERLY 0

Colin Walton picked up the win in game one with 10 strikeouts and homered in both games to lead the Wolves to a pair of CAAC Blue wins. Caleb Bonemer picked up three hits and a RBI, James Poletes had two doubles and three RBI and Nik Greborunis added a home run and three RBI for Okemos. Jackson DeLong and Iggy Arroyo each notched a hit for the Warriors.

IONIA 3, MASON 1 / IONIA 5, MASON 4

John Wyatt Erridge picked up two hits and a home run to help lead Ionia to a nonleague sweep. Trevor Hodges and Colt Piercefield each picked up a pitching win for Ionia. Travis Davis had two hits in game one for Mason.

LAINGSBURG 6, BATH 2 / LAINGSBURG 3, BATH 1

Elliott Wilsey went 2-for-3 with a home run and Ty Randall added two hits and two RBI in the Wolfpack’s 6-2 win. Randall and Emilio Garcia each drove in runs in the 3-1 win.

WILLIAMTON 6, HOWELL 5 / WILLIAMSTON D. HOWELL

Aiden Friess had a home run and drove in five runs while helping Williamston earn a nonleague sweep. Ben Convey and Miles Kenner each had two hits in each game for the Hornets.

DANSVILLE 9, PERRY 3 / PERRY 5, DANSVILLE 3

Tyger Whitbeck had three hits and four RBI in game two for the Ramblers as they split the CMAC doubleheader with Dansville. Tristan Krupp, Joey McGraw-Allen and Brady Burns each had two hits for Perry. Wyatt Mosley hit a home run and struck out 11 on the mound in Dansville's win. Dylan Ream and Austin Hovey each finished with three hits for the Aggies.

PORTLAND 9, ST. JOHNS 8 / ST. JOHNS 10, PORTLAND 7

Brody Moore hit two grand slams in the opener while driving in eight runs and Caden Thelen and Mark Meyers each had three hits for Portland (9-6) in its opening win. Moore added two hits in the Raiders' loss in the finale. Hunter Grinnell had two doubles and drove in four runs and Brandon Schomisch had a double and three RBI for St. Johns in its win.

STOCKBRIDGE 18, EASTERN 2

Collin Trost picked up the win on the mound with six strikeouts to lead the Panthers to a nonleague road win over Easter. Noah Sandecki finished with a team-high four RBI, Cruz Medina went 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and Zach Fletcher added on two RBI for Stockbridge. P.J. Thelen notched two hits and a double and Devin Spade added on a double for the Quakers.

GIRLS SOCCER

EAST LANSING 8, WAVERLY 0

Olivia Preisser had a hat trick and Kinsley McAndrews had a goal and two assists while leading East Lansing (4-7-1) to the CAAC victory.

HOLT 3, FOWLERVILLE 0

FOWLERVILLE ― Ella Marciniak-Jennings had two goals and Taylor Crosslan recorded the shutout while helping the Rams (6-4-1) to a nonleague win.

SOFTBALL

LAINGSBURG 4, BATH 3 / LAINGSBURG 5, BATH 0

Addyson Buchin secured both wins in the circle to lead the Wolfpack in their CMAC wins over Bath. Ashley Bila scored four runs, while Alayna Merrell added two hits and scored four runs for Laingsburg. Kassi Buck picked up three hits in game one and Kaitlyn Dickey finished with two hits and a double for the Bees.

HASLETT 11, CHARLOTTE 2 / HASLETT 17, CHARLOTTE 2

Zoe Chapin notched four hits and tallied six RBI to lead the Vikings to a pair of nonleague wins over Charlotte. Payden Whitmore hit a home run and had four RBI and Elaina Martinez tacked on four hits and two RBI for Haslett.

PORTLAND 5, ST. JOHNS 4 / PORTLAND 13, ST. JOHNS 2

Bella Spitzley led the Raiders with five hits in their nonleague wins over St. Johns. Jayden Townsend finished with five RBI and Bailee Fish tacked on three hits for Portland.

DANSVILLE 8, PERRY 2 / PERRY 4, DANSVILLE 1

Sara Austin notched a pitching victory for the Ramblers as the split a CMAC doubleheader with Dansville. Alivia Davis finished with three hits and Teagan Hallock added two hits for Perry.

LANSING CATHOLIC 12, DeWITT 0 / LANSING CATHOLIC 18, DeWITT 10

Avery Dunneback had a team-high six hits, three doubles, three RBI and eight runs scored as Lansing Catholic picked up a pair of nonleague wins over DeWitt (5-7). Taylor Dunneback homered in both games and tallied six RBI and Alyssa LaConte tacked on five hits for Lansing Catholic (12-7).

PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 17, POTTERVILLE 0 / PORTLAND ST. PATRICK 16, POTTERVILLE 1

Tori Sandborn picked up both victories in the circle as the Shamrocks notched a CMAC sweep of Potterville. Addie Scheurer went 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI and Megan Myers and Marian Davlin each had three RBI for Portland St. Patrick.

FOWLERVILLE 11, EATON RAPIDS 10 / EATON RAPIDS 10, FOWLERVILLE 10

Freshman Cheyenne Drinkwater finished with a home run in each game and four RBI as the Greyhounds fell to Fowlerville in game one. Ari Brooks notched three hits and four RBI and Madaelen Putnam and Riley Cutler each tacked on two hits for Eaton Rapids.
