PREP ROUNDUP: Hartselle overwhelms Muscle Shoals

Mar. 20—MUSCLE SHOALS — Jo Williamson went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBIs as Hartselle rolled past Muscle Shoals, 14-0, in high school baseball on Tuesday.

Cade Miles had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and five RBIs for the Tigers, while Brody Leathers added a hit and one RBI.

Jace Meadows pitched all seven innings for the shutout victory, allowing four hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

Cullman 8, Decatur 0: Sam Stephenson doubled for Decatur in a loss to perennial power Cullman on Tuesday. Bradin Dupper, Trey Greenwell, Bryce Parker, Ben Strickland and Reeves Waller had one hit each for the Red Raiders.

Cullman's Cooper Loftin had three hits, including a home run, two RBIs and pitched all seven innings for the win.

West Morgan 22, East Lawrence 8: Harrison Johnson and Gavin Walden had two hits, including a home run, and four RBIs each for West Morgan on Tuesday.

Titan Partlow had three hits, including a homer, and three RBIs for the Rebels, while Cole Thorn added two hits and three RBIs. Trenton Pittman doubled, drove in three runs and pitched 4 1/3 innings for the win, striking out six.

Tim Carter had a hit and three RBIs for East Lawrence and Brody Kitchens drove in two runs.

Hatton 7, Falkville 0: Bryson Jeffreys pitched six shutout innings to pick up the win for Hatton on Monday, allowing five hits while striking out 10.

Parker Huff went 5-for-5 with a double and three RBIs for the Hornets, while Owen Brackin added a hit and one RBI.

Hatton (15-5) continues play on Thursday.

Athens 6, Summertown (Tenn.) 2: Hudson Marks went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Athens on Tuesday.

Jack Elliott had three hits and one RBI for the Golden Eagles, while Chase Taylor added two hits and one RBI. Jaret Johnson pitched three innings of relief for the win, allowing two hits with one strikeout.

Athens Bible School 11, Valley Head 1: Ethan Johnson went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a big win for Athens Bible on Tuesday.

Gavin Butler had two hits and three RBIs for the Trojans, while Weston Todd added three hits and a pair of RBIs. Luke Murrell pitched three shutout innings for the win, striking out eight.

Elkmont 3, Clements 1: Corder Hobbs was dominant in a complete-game victory for Elkmont on Tuesday, allowing one run on one hit over seven innings while striking out 15.

Clay Looney had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for the Red Devils, while Andrew Staggs added one RBI.

East Limestone 5, Ardmore 4: Roman Schrimsher had two hits, including a double, and one RBI for East Limestone on Tuesday.

Keaton Johns had three hits for Ardmore, while Peyton Hargrove added one hit and one RBI.

Lindsay Lane 4, Whitesburg Christian 2: Ethan Hotz pitched a complete game for Lindsay Lane on Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

Micah Rasnake had a single and one RBI for the Lions.

Huntsville 11, West Limestone 4: Jayden Burford led West Limestone with a hit and one RBI against Class 7A Huntsville on Tuesday.

Colten Lewter drove in one run for the Wildcats, while Jarron Meredith had a pair of hits.

Vinemont 19, Danville 6: Avery Brewer had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs for Danville on Tuesday. Reece Cowart added one RBI for the Hawks.

Grissom 15, Austin 2: Ethan Wynn and Brody Holloway had one hit each for Austin on Tuesday.

Madison Academy 10, Brewer 4: Logan Powers had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs for Brewer on Tuesday. Cole Drinkard had one RBI for the Patriots, while Nathan Butler added two hits.

Priceville 11, Good Hope 8: Xoi Gaines went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs for Priceville on Tuesday.

Madison Lafountain had a double and three RBIs for the Bulldogs, while Darby Thigpen added two hits, including a double, and one RBI. Elizabeth Murphy pitched four innings for the win, striking out two.

Athens 15, West Limestone 14: Lily Lowery homered, singled and drove in four runs to lead Athens in a high-scoring win on Tuesday.

Caitlyn Tedford had four hits and one RBI for the Golden Eagles, while Morgan Stiles and Jazzlyn Davis added two hits and two RBIs each. Lowery pitched four innings of relief for the win.

Aubrey Bethune homered twice and drove in three runs for West Limestone. Lilly Bethune had four hits and three RBIs for the Wildcats, while JuliAnn Kyle and Lilee added three RBIs each.

Russellville 9, Ardmore 1: AG King hit a solo homer to account for Ardmore's only run on Tuesday.

Payton Pennington, Ragan Brownlow and Makena Hall added one hit each for the Tigers.

Rogers 21, Decatur 1: Alyssa Dothard doubled twice and drove in one run for Decatur on Tuesday.

Priceville girls 5, New Hope 1: AK Hopkins scored three goals and assisted on another as Priceville rolled past New Hope on Tuesday.

Madelyn Kennedy added a pair of goals for the Bulldogs, while Amidy Wilder had one assist. Tori Staats recorded two saves in goal.

Priceville boys 3, New Hope 1: McClain Lawson scored a goal and had two assists to lead Priceville on Tuesday. Luke Lorance and Angel Guzman added one goal each for the Bulldogs.

West Morgan girls 9, Hamilton 0: Madison Parker scored four goals in a big win for West Morgan on Monday.

Keira Hammonds had three goals for the Rebels (6-7), while Myra Ramos added a goal and two assists. Jennifer Ascencio and Ana Segura scored one goal each.

West Morgan plays at Florence on Thursday.

Tennis

Decatur sweeps Whitesburg Christian: The Decatur tennis teams swept a match with Whitesburg Christian on Tuesday, with the girls winning 9-0 and the boys winning 7-2.

Mattie Fite (10-0), Sheridan South (10-1), Harrison Wiley (10-0), Emory Leffers (10-4), Abby McCormick (10-2) and Riley Chism (10-8) each picked up singles wins for the girls, while pairs of Fite-South (10-2), Wiley-McCormick (10-0) and Leffers-Chism (10-7) also picked up wins.

For the boys, Brady Mann (10-0), Sawyer Terry (10-1), Kameron Bell (10-4), Luke Bouchillon (10-3) and Karrington Bell (10-8) each picked up wins in singles play. Pairs of Mann-Terry (10-0) and Bell-Bell (10-4) picked up wins in doubles play.
