Prep roundup: Hartland wins seventh straight KLAA boys lacrosse title

Winning Kensington Lakes Activities Association boys lacrosse championships has become a given for Hartland.

Few KLAA teams in any sport have been as dominant as the Eagles during a title run that reached seven consecutive seasons Monday following a 19-3 rout of Salem.

Hartland has won 68 consecutive KLAA games, only six by margins of less than 10 goals. In their six victories in the championship game, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 100-16. The 2018 season didn’t include a championship game.

Hartland's last KLAA loss was a 7-5 decision to Brighton on May 4, 2016.

Drew Lockwood scored seven goals and three assists to lead Hartland (14-2), which will host Rockford in its regular-season finale at 6 p.m. Wednesday before beginning postseason play against Waterford Kettering at 6 p.m. Friday at home. Lockwood reached the 50-goal mark for the season.

Dylan Ayotte scored three goals and two assists, Jake Lewis two goals and four assists, Jacob Ross three goals, and Clayton Penzien two goals.

Hartland also repeated as the KLAA girls lacrosse champion with a 20-7 victory over Salem. Statistics were not reported.
